I agree we take care of our planet, but there's no reason to give up on exploring the cosmos. Jeez!

Even if the earth only lasts another billion years, it won't be our job to move off it, humanity will be long dead by then. Let the dolphin people figure it out.

It's a false equivalency. There's no reason we can't help the Earth and colonise our solar neighbourhood.
