Look over the watchmakers' shoulders.

"Plenty of tradition and handcraft—combined with high-tech, where it outperforms handcraft: That is NOMOS Glashütte. All our movements are built in-house and by ourselves in Glashütte. This also applies to our watches—Tangente, Orion, Zürich and all the other models—many of which are already considered classics. You can find out how we do this by visiting us in Glashütte and taking a tour. In the meantime, this short film can give you a first impression of what we do."

I take it that the device seen in the thumbnail that is spinning the watches in two ways is a winder? Also, is the building's glass section set on a spinner? It looks like when they show the outside view like it is skewed to the main building.

$2000 to $4,000 for an in house movement is relatively cheap in the world of watchmaking.

I was really set on a Nomos Tangente Datum as a dress watch and it may still be on my list, but I have trouble with the look and length of the lugs. Their new Metro watch is really outstanding looking.

The new Tudor Black Bay in Blue/Black has my eye at the moment, but seeing as the Omega Seamaster Ceramic can be had for the same money it is a tough call.

So, every watch I've ever owned has never lasted a year. From the cheap Casio watch to the $400 Timex and Roots watches I've owned. Every watch on my wrist has ceased up. I'm told it's because I magnetism them.
After inspection, not even Timex would honor their warranty. I'm just doomed to never wear a watch.
I'll be dammed if I'll ever pay $2000 for a watch just to see if it'll last the year.

Which model? I currently wear and use Data Bank 150 model. Casio stopped making these DBs. I need to replace my old one soon, but cannot find any good replacements. I was hoping smart watches would be good, but I don't want or own a mobile phone.

This thing has nothing on my Casio calculator watch. What is there, like one button?

Crap.
