What happens when meteorite collide with each other? We tried to find the answers: Simulation Experiment. Thus, the earth turned into the star of the death.

I think it would almost be worse to be a part of a space station crew, or on board an orbiter mission at the time. Everyone below and all of civilization has been incinerated, you're the last of the species -- the last of any species (on earth) -- and all you've got to look forward to in the wake of your good fortune to be spared is a slow cold death in hard vacuum as your logistics begin to run dry.

Um...anyone else think the asteroid looks like it kind of just gently landed in the ocean and then all the chaos ensued afterwards? I'm sure it was slow motion and all, but wouldn't it be more effective if they showed it in "real time".

If something like this ever happened for real (it didn't even have to be a meteor that big) I swear that if I did't get killed in the initial blast, and knew I coulnd't do anything to save myself, I would definitely go to the highest point around, maybe the tallest building in the city or so, go to the rooftop, and just enjoy a great view of the end of the world.

An immensely late reply here, but from a quote in the text above:

It looks like this was actually sped up. I was thinking a similar thing when I first saw it, but I've heard it said elsewhere about destruction on such a massive scale - it's not as fast as in the movies.
