A little clip from the award winning documentary "For the Bible Tells Me So"
MarineGunrocksays...

I feel the need to point out that it wasn't until recently that the American Psychological Association declassified homosexuality as a mental illness.

That, and saying it's genetic is by no means a way of constructing a defense against the claim that it's "unnatural." Just because it may be genetic doesn't mean it's supposed to be that way. Some people are genetically deaf. Others bald. Others have bad hearts.

Downvote for saying that all Christians are ignorant morons that will dismiss science at any given opportunity.

The lesbian is hot. Though a problem i have with this clip is it kinda glazes over certain objections. Not saying Freud knew what he was talking about but instead of showing studies that have refuted what he and other psychologists proposed they just have the lesbian have a sarcastic response to it like that proves it wrong and moves on. There are plenty of more studies they could of mentioned that specifically shoot down old ways of thinking. Also im tired of hearing the "animals do it to" argument. Yes many animals seem on the outside to have homosexual behavior but its usually about establishing dominance more than any pleasure, does not have the "love" emotion we have, and is brief since every single one of those animals mentioned goes on to try and mate with a female. Not saying we arent animals (we are) but our brains are much more complicated and comparing homosexuality to other animals just seems like a cop out to me. Oh well, this clip is a step in the right direction. Remember, vote no on 8...oh wait California already fucked that up.

^So that's a basis for proposing policy?!

Do you support a ban on deaf people marrying? Or bald people? Or fat ignorant people who were "born" that way?!

The key point of this entire video, it seems to me, is the *science supporting the understanding.

Dont rely on people making their own conclusions from cute witty cartoons when a persuasive argument is obviously what they were shooting for. It wasnt terrible, far from it, just with they could of hit one out of the park.

Great video. I got a random video from the library about christian families learning to live and accept their gay sons and daughters and this was one of the segments in it. It was really touching and educational... now if we only could have shown it to Californians before they voted on prop8

rgroom1says...

how does a homosexuality gene propagate?
what is the evolutionary advantage of homosexuality?
Funny figure, the black voters that were mobilized to vote in the past election voted against prop 8 about 75% of the time.

I no longer believe in Christ, and if he is a God, then I'm no longer certain that he is a force of good.

A just God would no allow so many of His followers to be stupid assholes.

If being gay is a choice, then so is being straight.

Can't have it both ways.

So I ask any heterosexual, do you remember when you chose to be straight?

Didn't think so.
