Iraqi Kids Throw Rocks at US Convoy

BoneyDsays...

There's a lotta people on high horses about this. You must remember that these drivers live with the threat of death or injury each day - and generally only guarded by army reservists. That sort of situation has to have a darkening effect on a person.

That's not to say it's right, but it's also no proof that they *would* actually kill children if they were given the opportunity.

Unless any of us have actually been there, I dont think we are qualified to judge the mindsets of personnel in Iraq. We must realise the bigger picture, that people that shouldn't be over there and placed in these situations without bloody good cause to begin with.

Age does not make violent action justifiable... People in Iraq do not see them as children, they seem them as combatants which they are.

That rock that hit the windshield could easily kill someone, and the thought that the convoys can't defend themselves even using non lethals (Sandbag guns) makes me want to vomit.

Kudos to Bush putting them in this position.

no offense TRB, but if the children are holding AK's (and pointing them at me), i wouldn't ask questions... in this case, they are just rocks... not that i advocate the killing of anyone, in general... but Boney has a good point.

since 'they' are calling this the new vietnam, we may as well compare it. millions of soldiers were torn about the fact that they had to kill women and children, but that doesn't change the fact that the same women and children were trying to kill them.

Yeah, it's dangerous over there, and they are under lots of pressure. Yadda, yadda, yadda. Some "liberators", wishing they could exchange rocks from children with lethal force. They're just Hadji children though. Not worth a broken window or two. The fact that he sounds PISSED because he can't shoot these kids is what pisses me off so much. This video, and many more like it, are giving me a somewhat different impression of what our troops are doing over there, and the lack of discipline that must allow it. Yeah, yeah, yeah... I know it's not ALL our troops, and we should be supportive of them. Frankly, I wish not a single one had gone over there. It's a bad, dangerous situation to be in that I wouldn't wish on anybody. But this guy's attitude speaks volumes to me as to why so many murder charges have been brought against soldiers and ex-soldiers recently. There is obviously a whole lot of shit going on over there that is being practiced and condoned by at least some of our troops AND their leaders. It doesn't require many of these incidents to occur before word has spread through the citizens of the entire country. I'd throw rocks too.
