Human Slingshot Slip and Slide

Honestly, this was one of the funnest youtube videos we have made thus far! I worked together with the awesome clothing company "Vooray" to make it possible. We have talked about working together for the longest time, the problem was I was based in Hawaii, and they were based in Utah... However, last month I moved to Utah, so it finally became a reality.

We filmed this video on Saturday August 27th, I then released it August 30th, just because I was stoked to release it, haha :)

My friend Jace LeRoy was a huge part of the filming of this video. He and I both ran cameras, I ran my Canon 5D Mark II, and he ran his Canon T2i.

For the actual slip and slide, the jump itself Vooray built, it being 8 feet tall. They orginally used a bungie to sling people out, but a week before we filmed, when they were testing it, it snapped... and whip lashed a couple people. So to make sure it was safe, they bought a 250 dollar bungie online to make sure no one got hurt when we filmed.

The pond itself was on private property in Paradise Utah. From where the jump is to the opposite end, it was 150 feet long. Several people were launched 120 feet from the jump.. not to bad, right? :)

In fact, the first person that flew that far... He actually got knocked out once he hit the water... Everyone ran in there to help him.

This happened to 3 people,... and even after that it still didn't stop them, haha :)

Everyone wore helmets and life jackets, so we all tried to make sure we were as safe as possible. Just for the record though, I didn't do it, I'm not that brave, or stupid, depending on how you look at it, haha :)

Last October we filmed a similar video to this, but it was about a bike jump into a lake, you can check that video out right below.

I would've felt better if they did the proper equations to show where they would land because I was worried they would overshoot it. Everything worked out though...I guess I just like explanations to much.

Something's weird with that video. There was a few shots of people going down the slide and it always cut before they hit the ramp? There was a guy with a helmet cam and yet no mid air footage?

I smell a rat.

I wanted to fuck everyone in this video because they're so awesome.

Actually, I don't think it would work like that, they would most likely fuck you.

also *eia because all of these people survived something dangerous and go on to have awesome offspring.

also, I think if I had one day left to live and I could do anything I wanted with my friends, I would probably choose this.

Then, with 5 seconds left until the moment of my expiration, I would start down the slide and attempt to launch into a burning casket that's floating out on the lake.

Its a commercial video.. but not sure what for. Its using more then just quality handi cams, the guy in the lake is holding a balancer rigging. And there was not a single bad looking guy/girl there. Oh yea, gas powered night flood lights.

Still cool as hell though.. although I think they need to find a longer stretch of water.
