Hawthorne, CA Cop murdered a pet

YT: Swat and police are waiting on people to come out of the house, when a guy pulls up to record the scene. His dog runs out the car while the cops shoot in defense.

So many cops are just gun-happy cowards. Ask almost anyone who lives outside this messed-up legal system (outside the U.S.) and they will verify this fact. State sponsored killers with no ethics and less morals, that is the basic U.S. cop.

arekinsays...

Large breed dog attacking? What did you expect to happen, did you expect the cops to do? Do yourself a favor and google dog bite pictures and tell me that the cops did not take the appropriate action to protect themselves.

The cops shot at the dog and it was wriggling around in pain. Seems like this situation was completely unnecessary seeing that the dog's owner was getting arrested for NO REASON. This is so depressing. Fuck those fucking cops.

Double-Promoting this video and sending it back into the queue for one more try; last queued Monday, July 1st, 2013 4:20pm PDT - doublepromote requested by Issykitty.

This point should be made clearer. It is not the fact the dog was attacking the cop, and the cop defending himself. This is about cops arresting an innocent man and murdering his companion, who would have not helped out his best friend if it wasn't for the pieces of shit who should be on the street as homeless men.

So much no, this was irresponsible pet owner who was very close to a police raid (as is obviously evident by the number of cars and the assault weapon that is clearly visible around 3:00). The police are detaining him likely until they can ensure that he is not attempting to cause problems. Notice how the guys across the street from the guy being detained were fine continuing to record, were allowed to take the video away (despite showing a cop shooting a dog).

The dog did not deserve to be placed in a situation. But with your argument, if I saw a friend getting arrested I am entitled to charge cops and not get tazed or shot? To hell with that. But you know, its cool to blame cops whenever people do something dumb, illegal, or dangerous. Its cool to give them a hard time when they are trying to do their job and you know, protect someone.

They were allowed to take the video away because cops didn't know they were filmed. I'm sure this is only temporary. I'm sure they will be dragged into this, their homes raided and searched for this and other footage.

The evidence supports that, what with the number of police raids that take place over youtube footage. Seriously, these guys are clearly right across the street from the other guy who was detained. They are even heard commenting on the other guy ("look at this dude"). They can also be heard yelling at the cops to warn them that the dog is out and running up on them. The cops knew they were there and exactly what was going on.

Not because it's cool, but because one would think police would know better how to handle themselves and the "dumb people" without it resulting in this awful tragedy. Whatever.

So the cops should have rolled up the car windows for the guy and made sure their police perimeter was farther from the guy causing problems? I'm sure you also think that cops should have waited until the dog was chewing on one of them before accepting that the 80lb dog might be dangerous.

Anything to have avoided the dog jumping out of the car, yes. Probably would have been wise to avoid this bullshit and get back to the real situation at hand, but yeah I am biased on behalf of an innocent dog getting slaughtered, so give me a fucking break.

And if the guy had, maybe, stopped trying to get into their business, the cops would have left him alone, just like the other people around. You insist on blaming the cops and don't seem to think for a minute that the pet owner was to blame. Lets get this straight, NO ONE IS BLAMING THE DOG.

I did not say anyone was blaming the dog. Not saying the owner has no blame either. I just expect more from the cops, which I guess is my own problem. The guy did not seemed to be crossed over any physical police line, and of course the press release is going to favor whatever spin the police give it. Yes, I agree the guy was an idiot for walking his dog to his death, but I am thinking the cops could have handled it differently that this did not have to happen. I CAN TYPE IN ALL CAPS TOO!

Any way that this resulted in a officer looking at a mouth full of dog teeth was justified ending the same way. You say the cops have an obligation to keep the pet alive? I say the cops have an obligation to keep themselves and other people alive first.

If the guy had walked into the house where the armed suspects were to get his video footage, would you have thought he crossed the line? Their were numerous other people around who understood the idea of acceptable distance, and one guy who did not. No amount of excuse can justify that.

Also caps work better if you are making a point with them.

Congrats on editing the first post to "not have me win" after declaring me the winner. And yes, despite your reversal of my victory, I still stated exactly what had obviously happened in this video, only to be verified by what the press release said. The only people who want to continue to say "nu uhh" are people who are denying the obvious (not unlike yourself).

Issykittysays...

And excuses is what you keep making for the cops, and this did not have to happen imo, so let's just agree to disagree.

And @arekin, I did concede or clarify myself on some things that we agreed upon, but you seem to be reading right past those things. I'm not against you, but just not in agreement on your arguments and the manner in which you state them.

arekinsays...

You're missing the whole point. You are intent on this idea that the cops are are to blame in any way for this. They are not. They did not bring the dog, they did not fail to restrain the dog. They did not place the dog in a situation where the dog became aggressively defensive. The owner of the dog did all of these things. The points you "conceded" were never points I was arguing. The cops will not be "in a shitload of trouble" because they acted in the best interest of their safety.

If you wish me to stop being all "he wins the internet" then stop being a snarky ass and declaring that I "win" when I moderately challenge you by presenting evidence (or rather mxxcon does) that confirms the exact shit I just said.

Issykittysaid:

But if you want to keep focusing on the fact that you win at the internets, then by all means...

I don't wish for anything but for you to stop being all angsty. You are missing the whole point in that I do not interpret the video in the same way as the press release, therefore I do not agree with you. It's okay. Life goes on, snarky ass comments and all. On the other hand, I think your tone is douchey and condescending in nature, even though I can see the good points you are making through that but that's just my opinion, and I'm probably tired and oversensitive to the fact that this is an upsettting fucking video. I'm out.

The four shots are fired in relatively rapid succession. The video shows an officer moving slowly to attempt to restrain the dog when the dog lunged, at which point the officer fired. Watching the video, the last shot was fired before the dog began to falter sideways, and even from the good side angle (from the original video) I would have been unable to be certain that the dog had been hit until after the fourth shot was fired. The cop gave deliberate pause, it would be hard to say that he approached with the intent to fire his weapon.

This is the "here buddy smell my fingers, shoot him in the chest" move they teach at the academy. He is not trying to calm it down or grab the leash. This is technically how you do it with a pistol.

Humans being humans on this one, the cops are cops are cops and the guy with the cell-phone another drama-addicted, thumb-crab complete with loud, shitty, music pumping out his rolled-down windows and his showcase hood-rotty in-tow, 'bout to upload some "police brutality" to You Tube for all his friends to see....Can you say, "Robot?"

Fuck the police and fuck the dumbshits who work as extras for the crappy feature and the next 1000 sequels!

The poor dog was simply being true to his breed, and his Hu-Man.

Draxsays...

I bet the thought that they could uncuff this guy to let him put the dog back in the car never even crossed their minds.

Edit- On second viewing (ugh) this all went down to fast for any one person to "do the right thing". Poor dog.

Funny, where I live dogs react very sensitive to pepper spray, and will instantly cease attacking. I guess that was too much to ask of those low life pigs.

Dude, this thread is dead and you're picking a fight offering-up an accusatory argument with a loaded, generalized statement? I can't stand what cops have become but what I can't stand worse is douche-nozzle-esque reaction over discourse, theperspectiveguy (a handle which incidentally, offers no perspective on anything but a trolling ignorance-in-semantics.)
