Have You Ever Heard Of Conservapedia?

Cenk Uygur from the Young Turks points out the differences in Wikipedia and Conservapedia.

I love Conservapedia's slogan: The Trustworthy Encyclopedia.

And the Breaking news on their site at the moment, "Hillary is plummeting!" doesn't seem biased at all. I mean seriously, at least lost the Exclamation Point there Fox n-- I mean Convervapedia.

. . . . It's painful to read that site. My heart sinks when I think that people really believe that dinosaurs and humans coexisted only 6,000 years ago and that dragons are real (didn't know dinosaurs breathed fire) and that evolution is debunked because my kid didn't pop out as a new species or that monkey's aren't giving birth to 6 foot tall humans. Or, yes, that the asteroid had NOTHING to do with the decline of dinosaurs even though they admit that the period afterwards shows a serious decline in fossils but I guess it shouldn't matter because technically, most of them don't believe in carbon dating. But hey, I don't believe in popcorn.

Conservapedia is hilarious. They go way beyond the far right and way into completely delusional. I don't think any of the conservatives I know would view Conservapedia content as valuable.

I'm really tempted to make an account and see what kind of nonsense I can get their editors to "approve".

.. Because all "leftists" want to burn down churches and resurrect the Soviet Union?

That's crazy... we all saw it didn't work! The changes need to be made quicker and with less people in power. Preferably only 1 ruler until the communist party has been elected. And this time those who don't work will be sent to labor camps.
What more... Oh ye, GAY MARRIAGE!

Hahaha, the Conservapedia "Left Wing" and "Right Wing" articles are awesome! Cannot read one without reading the other. (I would suggest reading the "Left Wing" entry first).

As a PaleoConservative (i.e.: Libertarian), just from listening to you all and watching this video - I don't want to visit such a site. It sounds like another (to use their term) wacktard or loon Neocon designed website.

My god, the Neocons are certifiably insane. Wikipedia rocks and i love how it leaves a trail to who changed what (at least via ip addy).

It's time for Libertarian and Utilitarian rule again in this country. It's been way too long (centuries) since we've had good ppl calling the shots.

On the same note, I really don't like how this show also plays the left vs. right game. People are misled by the political spectrum in mainstream media. Everything is not so left and right. I've heard someone mention that the political spectrum is really a 3D scale and is constantly being oversimplified.

Eh, Wikipedia does have a liberal bias. When I tried to put the (verifiable) fact that Joe Wilson (the husband of Valerie Plame, and instigator of that whole mess) was part of the Kerry Campaign, it was removed repeatedly as "Well Poisoning". Meaning, of course, that it would give a reader a negative opinion of Wilson as the result of a fact.

Actually, checking the article on Joe Wilson, it's in there now but doesn't appear on any of the related articles on the Plame Affair.

ShakaUVM - wow, there's undeniable proof that wikipedia is liberal. You nailed it buddy. And we all know "that it would give a reader a negative opinion of Wilson as the result of a fact". That must be it.

While funny, it's hard to actually make fun of them for their seemingly homosexual, ummm, tendancies (i suppose that would be the word) that they have over their at conservapedia. Seeing as how anybody can edit the articles, they could just be an immature joke (though unlikely given their prevelance throughout so many articles) and the attention drawn to these particular articles probably has a lot of random people looking at them. It's kind of like getting the chance to read Charles Manson's diary. What are these psychos REALLY thinking about all day? Well, "homos" apparently : )
