Freddie Wong - One Shot ft. Eliza Dushku

NaMeCaFsays...

That was really well done. Smooth, realistic weapon drills; good acting; good cinematography and planning to get all that action in a single shot. Plus Eliza Dushku. I wish I could upvote again

One day, Freddie will make a vid that cost him more than $500 to shoot, and it will suck ass.
I believe in Universal Irony.

When I watch these, I do wonder where all this is leading so far as his career is concerned. Seems like it must be going somewhere, but I can't really imagine where.

I generally dislike all of Freddie's movies, and this is no exception. There doesn't seem to be much more here than glorification of violence. Which I don't mind, it just doesn't do much for my by itself. Violence for a purpose would be nice, at least.

Also it seems like the "protagonists" are just lucky, and the bad guys extremely deaf, have bad aim, and like to run out of cover.

All good points.

Then again, sometimes pure entertainment is just pure entertainment. Do you also over-analyze movies like Fast Five because driving a vault through the middle of downtown attached to a couple of cables is just OH SO REALISTIC and that hitting the nitrous ALWAYS equates to MORE traction from a standstill? Sometimes you just have to relax and have fun. Smile more. Life will be better. I promise.

I generally didn't care for his other movies but I liked this one. The camera was kept at just the right distance from the main actor as to seem like a second person following, it really seemed enjoyable to be following him. Also there was a nice LACK of cuts, and targets were framed up well while keeping the 3rd person view. There WASN'T a whole lot of dialauge which is a GOOD thing, it is to short for some silly plot. Instead it felt like one level in a game like portal, where you have a clear cut beginning and end, and it doesn't matter whats next until you are done with this map. Also blood was kept to a minimum, the head shot looked like something out of call of duty rather then mortal combat.

I think it is time to graduate though from basic gun fight choreography to a more advanced level though. So far what he has shown looks nothing more like your beginners level in a 3rd rate FPS.

Did they only find one sound effect for guns in their sound effects library?
The video is well done but there's really nothing new compared to his earlier work. Except Eliza Dushku, I guess.

It did look pretty but I didn't get the concept in this one.. the videos usually have something funny in them or tell a story of some sort, but this felt like a random action scene from a larger production. I don't understand the point of this one at all...
