I remember reading somewhere that with continuing advances in technology and medicine, we could see the average life expectancy raised to over a 100 years one day, and all I could think about is what the world would be like with twice as many people running around as there are today like this man.

Karaidl... you have to take into account that the age expectancy will rise, but also the quality of life in the old age. If people are living longer, that means they have better health all around. Probably in some time, an 85 year old will have the health of a 75 year old, for example.
