BoneyDsays...Interesting, thanks for the post.
I found more on this here (someone may be able to point us to higher quality vids):
http://www.democrats.us/beta/forum/view_topic.php?id=2375&forum_id=3
I'd heard about the massive extortions of the Iraqi economy a while ago, and I hope this sort of thing serves to bring it back to public light. It makes my blood boil to consider that a noble task, such as removing a brutal dictator, be sullied by the need to produce fantastical excuses in its justification. And then, to rape the country of its resources once you're finished - it's just reprehensible activity.
haggissays...Galloway is a fantastic orator. The press over here (UK) have it in for him in a big way, and it's not hard to see why - he's made a name for himself exposing lies and hypocrisy. Parliament could use a few more like him.
Cab00sesays...Im horrified anyone could say "Parliament could use a few more like him". He's an self serving ego-maniac. Where was he when Parliament was debating and voting on an issue directly relating to his constituency? He was in the big brother house dancing about in lycra outfits, and crawling around on the floor pretending to be a pussy cat. Also his ass-kissing to Saddam pre-war was very cringeworthy.
As much as I dislike him though, his hearing was brilliant to watch. He is a great orator and years of debate in the British Parliament will only sharpen those skills, and coming up against a Senator used to the US congress, there was only going to be one winner. Also I was and remain against the Iraq war, so find myself in the unusual position of agreeing with his points.
flyersays...Exactly. Galloway is an asshole, a liar, and probably a profiteer from the Oil-For-Food program before the war. But, just as in everyday life, despite being a thoroughly unsavory fellow paradoxically he is often a brilliant orator, and here he totally nails it.
It pains me that the most effective rhetoricians are often the biggest jerks. Where are the Democrats who can speak effectively against the idiots running the country into the ground? Pelosi and Reid are lame.
baseballlord14says...Well, if we had not invaded IRAQ, Thousands of people would have died In plane bombings a few days ago.
Also, you all are listening to this as though everything he is saying is true, simply because he says so. He is a good speaker, but the main reason for that is that he gets people like you to let your guard down and believe him.
He speaks about the invasion of Iraq as though we invaded a stable government that took care of its own people. We invaded Iraq because our final goal is to take down terrorist groups which were led by Osama and Saddam. He told the world that "Iraq had no connection to the attrocities committer on 9/11" We know that terrorist groups reside in Iraq. We know that Saddam sanctioned actions against the US. How can you ever prove that Saddam's governments wealth didnt contribute to 9/11.
The time frame which he is using to judge this is rediculous. 14 months??? are you kidding? What stable government was formed in 14 months. It took a while to get public opinion to change so the Founding Fathers could write the constitution, and then we had to fight a war over it. That whole process took a hell of a lot longer then 14 months.
Also, in the beginning he says that 1 million people died, then suddenly it was 100,000.
The left wing needs to get a clue. I always see you people marching in groups and feeling all self righteous and feel like you somehow are enlightened and know the real truth. But next time your at your little march, imagine a plane flying overhead and getting blown up in midair because we didnt wanna invade Iraq and gain the intelligence to stop it. The attemped terrorist attack a few days ago proved that the war is saving american lives in the long run.
Wars are fought to make things better in the long run. People die in the short run. If people didnt abuse the Koran to make it say "kill the infadels" then there wouldnt be an issue.
bnsasays...wow... You don't see people with balls like him stand up against our government and tell it like it is... It's ashame we don't have more people standing up and speaking out. :-(
theo47says...Y'know, it is possible for Galloway to be correct AND to be an attention whore, and in this case, I think both apply.
And baseballlord's post is at the same time hilarious and pitiful. For someone to cling so tightly to their political party that they ignore the obvious, it's just depressing.
joedirtsays...I'm scared by these freepers like baseballlord that create accounts just to 'enlighten' everyone with their goosestep views. It must be really sad and lonely to be that hateful and stupid at the same time.
baseballlord14says...Ok theo and joe dirt, lets hear it. Why dont u actualy take my points, say which 1's bother you... and actualy write something back about why they are wrong, rather then just being like... oo the right wing is so stupid.
And im ignoring the obvious? All the info that you have is what your little liberal media tells you. Watch/ listen to/ read any interview with a soldier who fought in iraq and they will tell you that they supported the cause for which they were fighting, and that people back home dont understand because they are not there.
And im clinging to my own political party? No, i have my own beliefs, we totaly screwed up in planning out invasion of iraq (we should have invaded iran first for 1)... but we need to have a presence in the middle east, or else shit like 9/11... 7/7.. and the attempted plane bombing will happen.
I welcome feedback on specific points because i love debating politics, but if your just gonna be like "ooo baseballlord, that goosstepping facist... dont waste my time"
theo47says...bblord, trust me - i've done my share of political debating on the internets, and i can tell that getting into it with you would be an absolute waste of my time.
Sorry, but there's so much wrong about your initial post, and I can tell from your rhetoric that you're not interested so much in "debate" as reciting talking points you heard on talk radio or Fox News.
czechritesays...I don't care what your politics are, Iraq was a big lie. Period. Galloway sucks, but Americans who support the Iraq invasion because they give a shit about Iraqis make me sick...they actually believe they CARE about them? lol.
joedirtsays...bbl, if the shoes fit.. nah, just kidding.
Who supported Saddam in the Iran-Iraq war? (hint: http://images.google.com/images?q=saddam%20rumsfeld)
Who trained Osama bin Laden? (hint: http://www.msnbc.com/news/190144.asp)
Who was too busy vacationing to pay attention to threats to the US? (http://news.findlaw.com/hdocs/docs/terrorism/80601pdb.html)
What middle east country already gets billions a year for the last decade? (hint:http://www.washington-report.org/html/us_aid_to_israel.htm)
I guess by presence in the middle east, you mean permanent military bases. And I hope you really aren't serious about Iran, and that's just Faux News talking... because even our military would have a serious problem if they took on Iran. No catchy kick-ass country song is going to make that a reality. I hope you are not still of draft age, because invading Iran as you so macho-ly put it, would mean that you might have a chance to be one of those soldiers. Then you can tell me how much all the soldiers support 'the cause' they are fighting for.
oohahhsays...If he's against the Iraq embargo, and he's against the Iraq war, how does he intend to police the Iraqi nation?
(That's something of a flamebait question, but I'm genuinely curious.)

Thanks for the specifics deuchebags... I can tell you guys are liberal because u know how to debate, when your wrong about a topic you just bullshit around with vague insults... fox news this, faux news that... I never once mentioned bush, or fox news, but i see you all are just ooo war supporter, must watch fox news and cream himself over bush... (btw, i come from a military family) Father: Lt. Curnal Grandfather: Curnal Great Grandfather: Lt. Curnal
Joe dirt on the other hand...
We supported Iraq in the Iran-Iraq war because we wanted to prolong it and make them both kill each other. If we handnt Iran would have just crushed them, and honestly, the more they destroy each other's army, the less we have to worry about.
Ok the link you sent me about Osama was from 1998... Last i checked that was during the clinton administration... and that was pre- 9/11 and pre-iraq so its completely irrelevant...
Vacationing, every president takes vacations... This president has a congress that he doesnt have to fight with on any issue besides stem cell research (which i support), so he has more time
And once again with israel, you send links with dated information (1997)... Also, why are u bringing up israel, trying to bate me...
(For those of you who dont know, the right wing is trying desperatly to keep the WMD debate alive by saying that sadam moved them to lebanon and they we could discover them now)... I know there is 0 truth to that rumor, so you should know that i dont believe everything i hear on fox news.
PS. (I get verry little of my news from Fox)... Nytimes.com, News hour on pbs, the mclaughlin group, etc.
haggissays...baseballtroll -
It's spelt 'Colonel'. I'm sure your predecessors would be thrilled to know you can't even spell their rank.
Anyway, theo's right - there's no point in arguing with you, since you're quite clearly a cretin. But I'm bored, and since you've gone to all the trouble of signing up for the sole purpose of speaking tripe, it would be rude to just ignore you.
"Well, if we had not invaded IRAQ, Thousands of people would have died In plane bombings a few days ago."
Your very first line on VS, and it's a real howler! You probably don't know what 'non-sequitur' means, which narrows the list of possible responses somewhat. But do you suppose that maybe, just maybe, it's precisely BECAUSE we Brits gave our support to an illegal war against a Muslim nation that we're subject to these threats?
"We know that terrorist groups reside in Iraq."
They do now! Until 2003, Iraq had the only secular government in the region. Now, we've created a power vacuum that has been filled by fanatics and warlords. Iraq is a safe haven for terrorists because of us.
"How can you ever prove that Saddam's governments wealth didnt contribute to 9/11."
How can you ever prove that John Cleese's wealth didn't contribute to 9/11? Berk.
"Watch/ listen to/ read any interview with a soldier who fought in iraq..."
We've obviously met different soldiers.
Oh, and READ the MSNBC link, don't just look at the picture. It's a story about how the CIA created Bin Laden in the 1980s. But, freeper, as soon as you saw '1998' the 'BLAME CLINTON' light started flashing, preventing you from concentrating, didn't it?
Anyway, welcome to VideoSift!
Imbecile.
ImmyReysays...and the opening post shall be repeated:

baseballlord14says...Ok im writing these things at like 1am after im exhausted and pissed off readin all your left wing nonsense. So i dont think my spelling really matters, of course i know that its spelled colonel.
The events a few days ago were carried out by Terrorist groups. Now please tell me what their justification was for 9/11. They did it because they are Muslims who abuse the ambiguities and vagueness of the Koran and because we are the evil infadels. They would have attacked us again for the same reason with or without our invasion to iraq... only they would have had their buddy sadam on their side (who btw would still be in power in not for my political party)... and even yours knows that, otherwise they would have nominated Dean... unfortunantly he took a stance against the war and then we captured sadam the best the left could do was nominate an assclown who flip flopped. (Then complain that our canidate was stupid when he had a higher gpa then yours at the same school)
"We know that terrorist groups reside in iraq..." "They do now..."
Ok, thats justificationf or not invading IRAQ in the first place (when i previously said we should have invaded IRAN)That statement only justifies staying in there longer and finishing what we started, which is exactly what we are doing... instead you left wingers wanna set a drop out date which sends completely the wrong messages. The terrorist groups have a goal to shoot for because of you, rather then just knowing that we will stay there till they are gone.
OMFG ok i dont even wanna get into all your left wing crap about 9/11 theories. Someone else already made a hillarious rant abotu how stupid your way of thinking about that topic is, i will simply send you to him.
http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=911_morons
And ok, the army is voulentairy... you join because you love your country and are willing to fight for its government. This isnt nam, all this anti-war "ooo the soldiers dont wanna be there" is a bunch of bull shit. I've even heard/ read interviews on NPR and NBC that show soldiers with no legs saying that we need to stay there and get this done so the next generation isnt doing the same thing.
Ok i realize the the circumstances are verry different and you all are gonna attack this saying that it has no correlation but look at Europe. There was shit going on in there for centuries, but all the wars were unconclusive untill WWII. It should have ended in WWI, but we stopped before the evil army was fully defeated, which just yielded a worse army. Today, not a whole lot of wars going on between germany and france... We need to finish the job in the middle east once and for all.
I read the damn article, and here's what i have to say. WE WERE FIGHTING A WAR ON COMMUNIST deuchebag... we didnt think that this guy with a 3foot beard was gonna be a huge problem compared to the freaking soviet union, and i think we had our priorities int he right place, do everything to defeat the USSR, and then worry about other shit. WHats happening today is bad, but the US isnt in jeopardy over it. Cold War= US in jeopardy.
Anyways that all my "right wing bs" for now, i might not be back for a few days i got a lot of stuff to catch up on...
Thank you for the warm welcome, i look forward to my return with lots of hate posts from the left.
Oh and ImmyRey, wait untill the war is over to make your judgement. I mean that both here and in Iraq...
Peace out ya hippies

I'm a former infantry officer. I have many friends who fought in Iraq. You are wrong.
Many, perhaps most, soldiers enlist because their prospects in civilian life are limited. The army offers them a chance that the rest of the world doesn't, and they take it. Some join because of the training and adventure, which they love. A miniscule minority are motivated by patriotism.
Very few soldiers, in my experience, are aware of the political environment in which wars are declared, or have an understanding of the large-scale consequences of what they do. They are told what to believe by their superiors. Then, they are trained to give certain responses in interviews. The soldiers who are unlikely to give the 'right' answers tend not to get interviewed.
joedirt is right - the only way to find out what the soldiers really think is to go out there and join them. But somehow I suspect you're not old enough to pick up a rifle yet.
Anyway, seeing as how you keep harping on about the plane bombing plot, I thought you might like to read a couple of articles about it. Then you'll understand why most people over here think it's much ado about nothing.

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/08/17/flying_toilet_terror_labs/
baseballlord14says...Ok, the reason the army has benefits as it does it because of the risk factor. You do what your told to, thats part of what joining the army is, so dont complain about the repercussions, there are plenty of other ways to pay for college.
Now, about my harping, your first link didnt work for me for some reason so if could send me the text or summarize it that would be great and ill get abck to u (I really do wanna hear what your argument is, im not just here to start fights)
The 2nd 1 basicaly said, making a bomb from two chemicals that are harmless seperated, yet explosive together is really hard. So is hijacking several planes and flying them into buildings and being succesfull in 3 out of 4 instances... Simply because its hard, that doesnt mean its not impossible. Think about this, these terrorist groups are hiding in caves all day thinking up complicated ways to commit mass murders without getting found. I think they have time on their hands to figure out how to make these complicated bombs, its not like they're wasting their time going to see "You me and dupree"... they are 100% committed to killing us...
Pre-9/11 we never would have thought that there was going to be a hi-jacking resulting in thousands of deaths, so of course we're gonna have the same attitude about this warfare technique before its actualy carried out. (I realize that they probably didnt chemicals like that german guy in die hard with a vengance, but i would bet they have enough fire power to take down a plane, who knows, maybe they even supplemented it with some poiseness snakes) <--- Thats how bad your jokes are when your this tired....
Also, first people said that i was too old to join the army, then i was too young, you guys dont even know if im in the army or not, dont speculate on the characteristics of me, lets just talk politics (and you guys can make fun of my spelling too)
Lastly, when you guys make a post in response to me, i adress every issue which you covered, if your gonna criticize me, dont do a half assed job, use your entire liberal ass...
Ok, now i know i said i wouldnt check this for a while because i would be busy but now i really mean it, see you hippies in a few days.... im going to bed...
joedirtsays...This is why you can't feed trolls. I can't even read past the first paragraph.. something about "the events of the last few days were carried out by terrirts"
Some people are willfully ignorant. First of all, there was nothing 'carried out'. No one had plane tickets and most didn't have passports. So don't go spreading your justified hatred around just yet. Sure, there might have been a plot, and it was thwarted. Good job, but wouldn't everyone be better off, if they just quietly dealt with it. Do you think if they were monitoring a communist spy, plotting, etc. that they would frontpage news stuff? It doesn't make sense.
If you can't realize that you are being manipulated into believing in some muslim-boogeyman... I'm really very sorry for you.
You are retarded if you think no one thought of hijacking planes as weapons "before 9/11".. Read the PDB of Aug 2001. Or millions of other gov't reports that discuss the scenario of planes being crashed into stuff.
Please, just enlist already. You can go hunt down all the cave-plotters and 100%-committed-types. I think they've recently expanded the age requirements, so if you're anywhere from 17 up to 42, sign on up. I can send you a list of Recruitment Offices and phone numbers. Do you "love your country and are willing to fight for its government"??? Is so that would be a good reason to enlist. If you don't enlist, then you either don't love your country or you are a f-ing hypocrite and should STFU.
kadampa1says...Yeah, nice dude. He was caught getting paid by Saddam to lobby for the Iraqi government. You lefties will jump on anyone's bandwagon that spits out the right sound bites. As long as it makes you feel superior.

sicamoresays...guys. you really should ignore baseballlord14 as the 14 is an obvious reference to his age and arguing with a 14 year old is the same as arguing with a 5 year old with slightly better spelling skills. No experience in the real work and knows nothing more than what he see's on tv or his 'cernal' parents tell him.
cobaltsays...Galloway is still a self-righteous bastard who cares nothing for the current situation and who's main interest lies in critising the government on past mistakes.
While I may agree with some of his points, his rhetoric does not impress me in the slightest. He may be a great speaker but his overall view and attitude is so at odds with my own that I can barely stand to listen to him.
baseballlord made an ass of himself but so did all those who argued against him. Insults are *never* the way to make your point seem superior. I realise calling you all asses makes me hypocritical but then I'm not bothered about you actually caring what I think. Political debate on the internet is a minefield and always leads to trouble. Even as I type this I'm starting to regret posting this so I'll do it before I lose my nerve
