sixshotsays...Now that's how you improvise. Can't get the ball out of the glove? Toss the glove w/ the ball in it.
antsays...And there's no rule for it?

Fairbssays...That's the most exciting thing that's going to happen in baseball all year.
atarasays...From the rules:
"A TAG is the action of a fielder in touching a base with his body while holding the ball securely and firmly in his hand or glove; or touching a runner with the ball, or with his hand or glove holding the ball, while holding the ball securely and firmly in his hand or glove."
So - the pitcher got the ball to the baseman, constituting a tag. He just happened to send his own glove with it!
And there's no rule for it?
eric3579says...The first time it was done which they refereed to.
antsays...Submit it!

Paybacksays...I'm impressed the First baseman had the presence of mind to drop his own glove rather than possibly error by having a glove-on-glove deflection...
poolcleanersays...It's the team hive mind. It just happens in sports or any type of adrenaline meets muscle memory and group coordination.
