Barehanded Line Drive Catch FPV

Biloxi Shuckers first home game on June 6, 2015 at the MGM park in Biloxi, Mississippi. A line drive hit into the right field side stands by Biloxi Shuckers pitcher Tyler Wagner was caught by me barehanded. Footage was captured on my GoPro Hero 4 with the head mount.

As someone who played cricket all through school I'm wondering why it's special that he wasn't wearing a glove?

First thought is to agree with you, second thought is the wicket keeper, who generally does wear gloves and still ends up with fingers pointing in random directions:
