The fact that it's so much better than the official logo is sad. One year and £400,000 to develop?! That's just under $800,000 USD! I'm a web designer although not an art specialist and I could have come up with something genuinely usable in a day which would be better than the turd they've come up with. It wouldn't have been a masterpiece, undoubtedly being bland and unoriginal, but the official one is just so bad. (And I'd have charged £250,000, at most!)
