Sagemindsays..."Send her packing..."
rougysays...Rot in hell, you dirty old skank.
therealblankmansays...While I am abhorred that anyone in Canada would want to hear Anne Coulter speak, I'm a little embarassed that people who disagree with her (whacko, racist, reactionary, hatred-inciting) point of view were able to bully her off the pulpit. That's kind of like what the Republicans and Tea Party assholes in the US are doing with the Health-Care debate. Shame on us, Canada.
NordlichReitersays...Her name is used in my household as a substitute for the word stupid.
Stormsingersays...No, refusing to provide a pulpit for a known hatred-spewing nutjob is not the same as disrupting discussions about worthy topics. There is a very clear line between the two, and Coulter has proven over and over which side she prefers to stand on.

That is exactly the way social pressure is supposed to work. It is ridiculous to expect people to stand by and do nothing while a idiot tries to convert other people to idiots. You stand up and say no. Not in my town. And if enough towns do the same, that person is eventually marginalized and they disappear.
The tea baggers were successful because they were organized idiots who overwhelmed the normal people who were not prepared. I suspect that in the future there will be (actual) grass roots organizations who will send out their own groups to dilute or freeze out the baggers.
enemycombatantsays...This old model is obsolete now that Palin 2.0 has deployed.

I rarely disagree with you, man, but I think she got off easy.
Bully for you, Canada! Bully!

That's funny, we use it for something different around here. BRB, I gotta go use the Coulter.

Absolutely not. I say, well done my fellow countrymen. I say fight fire with napalm. The enemy is ruthless, and staying silent and turning the other cheek doesn't do a damn thing.

Actually, her appearance is underwritten by those same Teabagger Asshats from the States. Canadians, by and large, know what she's about, and what she's said about us in the past. The Canadians paying to hear her speak are probably doing it due to the same human failing that makes us rubberneck particularly gruesome car accidents.
Canada do not want.
therealblankmansays...I'm not sayin' the protesters were wrong to loudly make their case, but threats of violence that led to the cancellation of this event are where the line should be drawn. I got a faceful of pepper spray for blocking a road in Vancouver once (thanks Sergeant Hugh Stewart aka Sgt. Pepper), but no violence, thanks.
You're all right about the main thing of course- Canada do not want.
mxxconsays...why are you all talking about coulter?
That reporter Krista Erickson is way hotter. so foxy..

That's pure comedy gold. Nobody would ever believe this as a plot line in some novel...

Yup, the irony should not be lost on anyone.
