antsays...DOH! I meant to use http://www.atomfilms.com/contentPlay/shockwave.jsp?id=animator_vs_animation_2&preplay=1 ... Sorry.
pigeonsays...sound is now fixed.

siftbotsays...Sending this video to Sift Talk for discussion (sent by gold star member james roe)
pigeonsays...being that the video is being hosted on youtube and not videosift, i fail to see how videosift is legally motivated to do anything. doubtless this message has been sent to youtube as well (it certainly has to digg). if youtube takes it down, fair enough. but assuming they don't, why should we?
here's something i found on the artist's deviantart page.

Animator vs. Animation II is finished!
i sold it to atomfilms.com exclusively, for the first month only. After the first month, other sites can host it.
*edit* it will be up on tuesday, the 14th.
be patient!

looks like there are no legal ramifications to posting this video in about two weeks. annoying.
smells of old world distribution to me.
antsays...What the heck? How dumb. Blame YouTube, not VS. Since it got taken down, see my old comment for the true link.
pho3n1xsays...yeeeeaaaahhhh... economic damages... right...
fireflysays...in the words of Lionel Hutz, "Can you imagine a world without lawyers?"
antsays...I wonder. Does Pigeon lose points from this?
lucky760says...i fail to see how videosift is legally motivated to do anything.
Your sentiments are echoed by us all. It is anti-intuitive to believe that by providing a link to freely available information we are infringing on someone's copyright. However, the federal government appears to side with the music/video lobby who insist that the DMCA defines mere linking to data existing at a remote site as representing a form of infringement.
Go figure.
Farhad2000says...Obviously they only did it because they would lose out on advertising revenue, you are made to watch an ad before the video starts on Atom Films.
Ridiculous.
antsays...So is this the first ever video that had to be pulled like this?
intangiblemegsays...So is this the first ever video that had to be pulled like this?
Yes, we have gotten some other complaints, but they were fine with us just passing the buck to YouTube.
James Roesays...The above comment is mine, meg logged me out and logged herself in. Didn't realize it till this morning.

jimnmssays...I'm having trouble fixing another video's embed code, it keeps telling me that this video is using the embed, even though it isn't.
Let me try a *return
siftbotsays...Returning this video from Sift Talk - return requested by jimnms.
jimnmssays...and now *dead
siftbotsays...This published video has been declared non-functional; embed code must be fixed within 2 days or it will be sent to the dead pool - declared dead by jimnms.
thegrimsleepersays...*discard
http://www.videosift.com/video/Animator-vs-Animation-2
The other video is actually the dupe, but it was submitted by the same person and has more votes. So I guess it's better to discard this one.
Also I'm having the same problem as jimnms. I'm trying to sift a video and sifty keeps telling me that this one is using the embed.
siftbotsays...Only queued or published posts may be discarded - ignoring discard request by thegrimsleeper.
thegrimsleepersays...Ugh *notdead
siftbotsays...This dead video has been deemed functional; it must have been accidentally declared dead - declared notdead by thegrimsleeper.
