hpqpsays...the *comedy in this is that it is for real!
siftbotsays...Invocations (comedy) cannot be called by hpqp because hpqp is not privileged - sorry.
Opus_Moderandisays...There's a big sign at the pearly gates that says "No Pets Allowed"
also "No Shirt, No Shoes, No Service"
also "Return Your Old Glasses Here!"
braindonutsays...Wow... the layers of contradiction in here are staggering...
So I, as a non-believer, can sign up to be a pet caretaker, just in case something happens that I don't believe could ever happen? Does that mean I get paid prior to the rapture, just for saying that I'd help pets after?
I checked... you don't get paid anything... so you just give them your personal information along with the information that you're a non-believer... and they are supposed to contact you after the rapture to let you know that you should be taking care of some animals?
Who's the guy pushing the big red "Push if Rapture" button? The one non-believer they keep in reserve?
I suppose I shouldn't be shocked that this entire thing is utterly retarded.
Stormsingersays...Retarded? Or parody? I vote for the latter.
Clean off your comedy sensors, my friend.
KnivesOutsays...This is real.

Whether the operators are "taking the piss" out of the evangelicals dumb enough to sign up... I have no idea.
peggedbeasays...^ in the sites blog section, the operators clearly state that they are not intending to take the piss out of evangelicals, that they are infact, very sincere.
they are even listed on http://www.christslist.com
Stormsingersays...Seriously? Wow...just wow. I would have bet anything that this "commercial" was on the level of the bonsai kitten website.
My apologies, braindonut. Your questions do deserve real answers.
I have to say, even after reading the site and looking at all the links, I'm still not convinced this isn't just a moderately elaborate prank. I've seen pranks that took a lot more work, and this one's definitely set up so there is no way to verify any of it. But it's certainly debatable.
Draxsays...I believe I originally saw this as a Craig's List ad a while back.. whether it's directly tied to these guys, I dunno.
The pets don't get to go with them though? Harsh.
Throbbinsays...This is a great business model. And the thing is, when the rapture comes, we know we're fucked anyways if we're left behind, so we don't even have to follow through on the afore-mentioned pet-care services. Win-win!
swampgirlsays...Yeah at first I had a laugh when I first heard about this on the radio, but you know this is really sad. People believe! You have family, teachers, neighbors and political leaders really believe this is going to happen! They pro-create! There are children out there that are afraid of this "upcoming event" :-(
