Some athletes and physics say that a somersault would increase the max distance of the long jump, however the technique has been banned for safety reasons
Would make the sport a lot more interesting to look at.

World record long jump is 30 feet. So there's a long way to go before this move would be competitive even if it was legal.

And he took off at least a foot past the end of the measuring tape, and landed 6"+ early.

So I'd guess 18.5 feet. Meh. Try again loser.
