2 Astronauts Explore a Planet w/ Bizarre Fantastic Creatures

Marooned on a far-off but weirdly Earth-like planet, a pair of astronauts spend their days studying the very strange, surreal creatures that roam its surface. Their experiments may seem odd (and involve a lot of gooey slime), but there’s a specific goal at the end that has everything to do with good ol’ homesickness.

Joseph Bennett and Charles Huettner’s animated vision of an alien ecosystem is both fascinating and totally weird. There’s no dialogue in Scavengers, just eerie, visceral sound effects and faintly haunting music. - io9

No Man's Sky just should have been a procedurally generated universe. They failed at a relatively simple goal that can be complicated to construct.

This takes imagination and a type of understanding that's more rare to come by, and more difficult to execute.
