Hill Climbing gone wrong.. way wrong..

The Funniest Spy Kill from TF2

Primer (2004) Full Film (1:17:12)

As I am required to mention whenever this movie comes up...

* it was filmed part at my alma mater, the University of Texas at Dallas (this floored me when I saw the movie because I didn't know ahead of time)
* The guy with the line about where engineers go when they die is a former co-worker of mine at UTD, Keith Bradshaw
* Much of the rest of the film was filmed at an apartment complex where I lived for a few years (Post Addison Circle, a great place)

When I went to see the movie I did not know any of this stuff so I was really shocked to see all this stuff I recognized. Weird feeling.

Man I love me some Eva Cassidy. Her version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow is one of the only ones I really love. Some other great songs of hers are "Wade in the Water" and "Ain't no sunshine"

Oh, and when I was a youth, collecting bottles was something kids did for cash. I grew up in Iowa and you could get 5c per can. A garbage bag full was easy to get in an afternoon and was worth several bucks.

The state governments have created an opportunity for arbitrage here, by making recyclabe trash worth vastly more in one state than another. I should ship cans from tx to somewhere that pays for them (no deposit in TX, and you can't get much for turning them in for recycling)

The report makes it sound illegal to bring cans in from another state, which seems odd. Wherever they come from, they're being taken off the road sides, parks, landfills, etc, etc SOMEWHERE and being properly recycled. That's good, right? If the consumers in your state are willing to pay money to clean up cans in a neighboring state, I can think of why you might find that less than ideal, but to make it illegal? Weird.

How about just making the cans worth 10c nation wide? I guess then they can import soda cans from mexico.

I don't get it. It's the girl's apartment (the guy says "wow, nice place" when they come in) so who is the black guy? If he's the "girl's" roomate, he knows she's not a girl. If he's the guy's roomate, wtf is he doing there?
