What Barry Says: Animation to the Polemic
^ my15 - agreed. My point is simply that a person with integrity would either decline to answer a question about his sex life or his drug use or simply admit it and face the issue head on... and at worst, dodge the issue. But to outright lie about it? Or try to under oath? It's offensive and we should hold all politicians to a higher standard than that. The tragedy is that Clinton was a good president and I'd have voted for him again without blinking if he'd simply been straightforward instead of lying in the hope he'd never get caught. Tony Blair complained that he could never get Clinton to commit to doing anything and was relieved when Bush took office because he felt like Bush would make promises, and then follow through on them. Clinton's nickname was "slick willy" for good reason.
You want to see integrity? Watch Barack Obama in this clip (I don't think I sifted it, so you're welcome to if you wish):

What Barry Says: Animation to the Polemic
For what it's worth -- I couldn't have cared less about Clinton's boinking while in office... but lying under oath is perjury, no matter how you slice it. As our national leader, and a lawyer to boot (!!!), he could have simply told the truth and turned the tables on the prosecutors. Oh wait... they were trying to establish a possible pattern of sexual harassment. Nevermind.
Lest we forget: "I smoked, but didn't inhale." Wow... just wow.
Small is tall (Stupid fucking $tarbu¢ks sizes)
Great editing. Clever, too!
Prankster Takes On Tom Cruise
I'm with Wumpus. Call Cruise may be a religious fanatic, but the pranksters didn't get the best of him.
Message to Ralph Nader from Anonymous
To me, what did it was the Jesus Tapdancing Christ quip. Brilliant.

Magnolia trailer
While Magnolia is filled with amazing individual performances (Cruise's, in particular), I must admit that when I first saw this film, I hated it... which is rare for me, and also odd because I loved Boogie Nights. Whenever that happens, I tell myself to wait awhile and see it a second time before I pass judgement.
I can't wait to see it again now.
True Romance - Drexl? meet Mr. Myjestik
Amazing film. I think my favorite line in it is Bronson Pinchot talking to himself: "Okay, what's my motivation... to stay out of jail..."

I Wouldn't Steal A Purse, But I Do Download Films
There's a fruitful discussion about piracy on screenwriter John August's web site, which I'm currently contributing to:

http://johnaugust.com/archives/2008/more-on-the-torrents
In a nutshell: as a filmmaker, I *hate* piracy because I feel it forces filmmakers to busk without permission (yes, Bit Torrent is fantastic word of mouth, etc.). That said, piracy is not going away and the winner of the war on piracy will be the one who finds a way to make money off of it, instead of creating laws which cannot realistically be enforced on an international scale.
While I enjoyed the movie above for its filmmaking, I can't upvote it because of its message. However, I'm not downvoting it, either, because I did enjoy watching it. I'm so conflicted.
