Mercury vapor from dental fillings

obscenesimian says...

Hmmmm! Mercury vapor rising from a tooth apparently held in someones hand, with no other heat source than a little friction?

Please return your periodic tables to the proper authorities immediately!!

Oh and by the way, this:

>> ^jwray:
Norway and Sweeden have banned amalgam fillings for both environmental and health reasons. These countries are not to be ignored, since both have better standards of living than the USA "

Is about as valid as this:

"Kansas has required the teaching of biblical creation in public schools based on the fact that it is an appropriate alternate to the theory of evolution. Kansas is not to be ignored because they have a lower per capita suicide and alcoholism rate than both Norway and Sweden"

"we're not playin' bring it"
I wonder if the dog ever does play.
It is way too calm and attentive for a 3 month old puppy. Something seems odd to me.

Maybe it's calm because it does get plenty of play time? Does it occur to anyone that the reason it's well behaved and calm is that it's already worked out it's energy running around?
This looks like a very well looked after dog. It's doing set pieces for the camera, so no, it's not running around being disobedient (all those scenes would have been cut!).

agreed; notice how the video cuts just after the dog is supposed to release the item from her jaw and place it in the owners hand. i never managed to get my very intelligent jack russel dog to do this (deceased) she loved playing fetch.. but had some weird instinct thing kick in when it got to the 'give him the ball so he can throw it again' bit.. it was like 'i know i want to give him the ball, so he can throw it again, but at the same time, he wants the ball, and its in my jaw, so he can't have it'.. she never seemed to make the connection between not giving ball back = end of fetch game.

The attention span of the average dog is very short at 3 months, BC's are fucking neurotic, Like sifters, but this dog is really attentive, like more attentive than all of the working "goose" dogs I have seen at 6 months, doing the BC thing for a living. It seems Odd to me, and it should to you, but I forgot, you are all fucking experts in dog obedience and the breeding and care of border collies.

P.S. if you aren't aware of what a goose dog is....

If questions of IQ are on your mind, I suggest reading "The Mis-measure of Man" by Stephen Jay Gould.

In a nutshell, much of what IQ tests attempt to quantify is ephemeral, poorly understood, and often culturally biased. That is not to say that it is wholly inaccurate, but IQ tests do not quantify the sum of "intelligence".

I won't comment on this guy's Emotional age, Social intellect, and the fact that he appears to be Ron Jeremy's brother.
