Paramilitaries storm outdoor rave in Utah, beat partygoers

KaiEr says...

Well, I'd be suspicious of something that happened over a year ago, and the only "eye opening" news that can be found, comes from subculture and music sites.

As noted by the UTAH police, the only permit they obtained, was a health permit. They were required to have more than that. A federal judge ruled in Sep. of 2005, that they did NOT have sufficient permits, and that the raid was justified.

As from what I see in the video, most of the "reporting" seems to be overinflated.

Getting the "Facts" from one side, can really make a difference in perception.

Who Left This Hole in the Ground, Mr. President? (8:45)

KaiEr says...

I'm not a Bush supporter, but this was just totally misplaced.

As if Bush or any political figure could do anything with this swath of privatly owned piece of land that is nothing more than "prime realestate" for those who own it.

That empty space is there, not for the inaction of politicians, but for the lack of action on the owners and developers.

And now he's trying to claim that he's the one to put ABC up to "spinning" 9-11? Give me a break. Oh, for shame, we should actually think that 9-11 may have been initiated 6 months prior to the event? Look, it may have happened on Bush's watch, but Clinton isn't Teflon on the matter either. It was a failure across administrations.

Man, this is nothing more than a liberal version of those concervative nut cases out there.

We don't need to counterbalance ignorance with ignorance.

99% of them were not even impressions, but just immitations of other peoples made up voices and impressions. Does not really impress me much.

Give me actual impressions of actual voices over this type of cattle scat any day.

Robert Shaw as Quint tells tale of USS Indianapolis

KaiEr says...

I always loved this part of the movie, but I always did cringe at some of the inconsistencies. Not just the inconsistencies between what he said and the actual story, but some of the inconsistencies of what he said. “They didn’t even list us as overdue for a week.” And “… Noon, the fifth day…” talking about the plane, which actually happened shortly into the fourth day, yet was before a week’s time. The fact is they were listed overdue within a day of the sinking.

They were also not on their way from Tinian to Leyte, they were on their way from Guam. Leyte Gulf is one of the forgotten battlefields of WWII. The largest naval battle was waged there, along with this major disaster in naval history.

Still, a classic scene though.

Anyone visiting the Philippines, I suggest you check out some of the major battlefields and places of interest; Bataan, Carregador, Leyte, and others. It is an amazing place.

Any time someone needs to do the "passing back and forth" bit, just take it for granted he is grabbing a new ubmrella. Just like the moving camera in that earlier clip about the "paper manhole cover".
