Honk if you hate Scientology

yeah these guys are real revolutionaries .. why not make "honk if you hate britney spears" or ..."honk if you hate our president" signs.. or better yet "honk if you like a group of jobless 17 year olds shooting fish in a barrel" ..this is pathetic, and not even funny. Why does everyone confuse the first amendment with a license to be a total asshole to strangers? I personally don't give a shit about Scientology ..but who the fuck cares? i mean , could they have picked an easier target? we get it... its fucking weird, the xenu thing..but seriously this is not in the slightest funny. its a corny fucking idea that proves nothing.. except, that high schoolers exercising their first amendment rights on a busy intersection while making profound political statements about a harmless comical religion ... this is just dumb. please everyone don't encourage this trash.

Considering what I've seen and read about Scientology, I'd hardly consider it a "harmless comical religion"... but then again, what religion is harmless?
I wouldn't be surprised to see Scientology become the new People's Temple.

A Letter from HELL!

Wow... I finally got to watch this, and I've gotta say; those are some well thought out scare tactics there.
What I find particularly amusing is that Josh has heard of Hell, knew it was called the Lake of Fire, but never heard of Jesus?
Unless Josh's parents kept him in a closet, and tied a blindfold around his eyes, and deafened his ears when he went to school, Josh couldn't possibly have missed hearing about Jesus.
References to God and Jesus are in nearly everything we see on a daily basis, they're constantly on the news, if you've got cable, how could you possibly miss the "God channels" while you're flipping through, looking for something to watch?
Even if you were taught at a young age to avoid Jesus, the Bible, and the everything to do with God, you would want to know why... your curiosity would get the better of you one day... you would read something, watch something, listen to someone.
Not to mention that those people go out and actively seek out new members as avidly as any other religious group.

Even the President makes references to God.

This is just sick, twisted bulls**t... and I'd like those people who made this to remember what Jesus said to his disciples;

Luke 14:33 (RSV) "Whoever of you does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple."

So, you modern followers of God and Jesus; cast off your BMWs, cast off your cable shows, cast off your million dollar homes... if you're going to claim devotion, show us your devotion.

Why does God create people to not believe in him, and then punish them for it?

God created people and gave them the ability to make choices. It's up to us to make the right ones.

I can't wait to watch this... being born into a Catholic family & having spent 4 years in a strict catholic school (at a young and impressionable age, no less) this is sure to bring back horrific memories of being accosted by nuns with metal tipped yardsticks and rulers.

Save America from evil men. Ron Paul may be the answer.

I'm not a very political person, and I won't pretend I know much about it... but for the first time in I don't know how many years; someone is making sense and making it seem like the people are more than just tax dollars to be had.
When it comes time to vote, Ron Paul has got mine.
And win or lose, it'll be the first time I've ever felt like my vote stood for something.

ohhh you're all so terribly right because after all, we know that advertising people are not actually human, they are all borgs who despise everything hunan and are doing their damnedest to bring about the downfall of humanity. Advertising people don't have families, children, or love of any kind in their hearts. There couldn't possibly be anyone in advertising who has anythig but a cruelgreedy heart of stone. NOt at all possible that perhaps some executive decision-maker somewhere thought that MAAAAAYBE they ought to address some of the damage that the beauty industry creates. Never. Nope. Those guys are all just the embodiment of evil. We bear no responsibility for our own lack of guidance to children when they are constantly exposed to this crap on OUR television sets and OUR choices of media exposure in OUR houses.

Yeesh.

You can't blame people for not trusting big corporations... you ask them and they'll tell you; they're here to make money. There's a long history of those same corporations using gimmicks similar to this to get people to trust them and buy their products.
I'm not saying there aren't individuals in those corporations who actually do care, but based on what I've seen and read; I wouldn't trust them.
Again; just my opinion...

and I don't begrudge anyone that opinion at all.. I'm pretty anti-corporate myself having grown up in an activist family. However, I also learned through myyears that corporations are made up of people and there are people who care. WHen the main objective for everyone is only "make money" sure, overall not much to put your faith in, but never begrudge any one persons efforts either. WHen you denigrate a sincere effort (however midguided or isolated) you prevent true learning and concert.

I understand your point, and I too would think that there are people involved that really do care, though I don't believe those are the people the stock holders want in charge.
I hope that in this particular case that you are right and I am wrong... I dealt with this kinda thing growing up, and it always burns me to see people treat both kids and adults the way I was treated.
I guess we can only watch and hope for the best.

Fantastic Dove Ad: Talk to Your Daughter Before They Do!

8426 says...

I'm no market researcher or anything, but I wonder if you folks have realized that all beauty issues aside, Dove is pretty much saying; "this is bad, but we're not... we love your children" which sounds like a marketing ploy to me.
Just my opinion though.
