mysterious dissapearance from top 15?

I posted this video that was in the top 15 for a bit yesterday, then mysteriously, it became no longer in the top 15.

Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag. (show it anyway)

In order to keep things fresh, the top 15 counts from when the video was submitted, not published on the front page. So the queue time counts towards the 4 day expiration to be a "top new video"

Hmm. Maybe the FAQ entry needs to be reworded? Anyone else have a problem understanding it?

If you think a video should be listed but isn't, it is either because:
  1. it was queued more than 4 days ago (hover your mouse over "published by" to see a sifted video's queue date)

  2. was originally submitted more than 2 weeks ago

  3. it does not have a high enough vote total compared to the other videos listed.

Doesn't #1 make #2 impossible?
or am I not understanding some weird esoteric bit of VS terminology?

To me, it seems that a video on the top 15 should not be limited by it's initial queue date. I cant count the number of Hidden Gems that take a while to get out of the Queue, but then shoot up like a rocket.
If you want to keep things fresh, put a 2 day limit from the moment it hits top 15.

I seriously had to read the FAQ part several times, and keep going back to the video page before I figured out what it meant, and thus why my video was in the top 15 for such a short period of time.

there's still inconsistent vocab.

unsifted vids say "queued by.." and hovering says "posted by"

sifted vids say "published by" and hovering says "queued.."

seeing as the queue isn't called the queue any more, and none of us actually publish videos here (selflink!!) i think the words here need attention so they are intuitive and consistent... everywhere on the site.
