Playlist Management Upgrades
Managing your playlists has just become a bit quicker and more fun. A new feature that I know everyone will find very useful is a 'remove' button while playing one of your own playlists. If you're like me, you have one or two playlists that you use for procrastination to watch interesting looking videos later. Now once you've viewed it, just click the 'remove' button and it'll be taken off of your playlist.
In addition to that new feature, a few playlist management features have been upgraded to work asynchronously (without the entire page reloading). Along with that new 'remove' button, in your playlist manager you can reorder videos in a playlist up/down and delete videos from the same page instantly.
Hint: One little visual cue we added is for these magic buttons to have their outlines turn black once they are ready to work asynchronously. Until they do, if you click them, the entire page will reload as per usual.
Please let us know in this post what you think of these updates and if you experience any troubles.
Update:
Two new features have been added to playlists: 1) The ability to have videos shown to viewers in reverse order (newest add to oldest); 2) An introduction field that you may use to show a description to viewers of a playlist

Wow thanks for the upgrades!
I just wanted to throw this in, can we make the 'User play list showcase' a weekly thing after Xmas?
A play list is chosen by Sift Overlords to sit on the frontage for a week and then switches every week. For holidays the list becomes holiday specific. E.g. Love on Valentines and such...
How does that sound?
Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag. (show it anyway)
That's a good idea. I think Playlists have a lot of promise for feature upgrades. RSS for playlists would be cool. As would widgetizing them to put on other sites.
Thanks again, Lucky for even more upgrades :-)
I love the new management options.
But is it me or is there no option to allow the Play list to display the more recent additions instead of the videos added earlier?
I know there is a system to move them up or down but am talking about a playlist wide option that would display the most recent additions to the playlist first. So like if am actively updating my playlist any user would always see the newest additions.
another suggestion about playlists:
how about a user-controlled text field at the top of the first page of the playlist. nothing too big, just a 100 words or so to write an introduction...
Those are very good suggestions, farhad and plastique. Both have been implemented.
Now on the settings page of a playlist, you can check a box to default to showing your videos from newest to oldest add (note this means they are displayed in the reverse order as they appear in your playlist manager).
Also, you can add an introduction to your playlist that will be displayed at the top of your playlist page.
....Damn!, Hate to think what would happen as fast if this intruder had an epiphany...!
Here's one to think about..It is very easy, and or difficult, to navigate already-all for new and better...but;
"Short, yet sweet."-Streamline, without colvolution....unique, subtle(should talk)-umtil u have
the minerals to back it up....Hmm?
All that said, all for setting the bar next notch, contests are even better!!!!
i don't know how much you may care, but if a playlist have got japanese characters in its name, i can't add videos to it.
