Obama's Veep Pick Predictions?

The press is saying Biden. I think not. It's weird how Hillary has just fallen off the Earth, she's not mentioned at all as a potential pick.

My thoughts are that the media is setting us up for the big Hillary surprise. They know it's going to be her but it's more interesting if people are surprised. Obama and Hillary made a pact when they met right after the primaries at Diane Feinstein's house.

I may be very wrong, but that's my prediction.

I don't think Clintons play nice with others, furthermore I think alot of Americans do not want to see any more old guard players coming in from the past. They need a fresh face for Obama, who should be more conservative.

I wish it was Chuck Hagel. Personally.

Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag. (show it anyway)

It would be pretty funny if Obama picked Hagel and McCain picked Lieberman.

Thinker - I do talk to myself at this time of the night when only Aussies, Kuwaitis and Kurazies are up. Which one are you?

I'd actually like Bill Richardson. Good energy experience, and that's important. Not a media whore. Not much of a prediction. It'll probably be Lieberman, or to Dag's point the shock and awe of Hillary.

"McCain/Lieberman '08. Vote Judeo-Christian values by voting for a Christian and a Jew!"

Which one am I? ...an Idahoan with insomnia.

Ask your doctor if ObamaKaine is right for you.

Side effects may include increased taxes on the rich, a decrease in aggression and a swelling of the hope glands.

Do not use ObamaKaine if you are Republican, plan on becoming Republican, or are breast-feeding.

>> ^maatc:
I say Tim Kaine, because ObamaKaine sounds like a very addictive drug.

He's going to pick me so he can get that crucial raccoon and VS voting demographic. As a VP candidate I support fat government subsidies for all sift members as well as pushing a pro-cupcake agenda. And remember, I'm not just for building a stronger more robust American economy based on kitchen remodeling, I'm also hiding under your bed holding a large knife.

NetRunner says...

The press is swearing on a stack of bibles that Obama will pick either Joe Biden, Evan Bayh, or Tim Kaine. They also swore on a stack of bibles that there was no reason to doubt that there were WMD in Iraq.

Snarkiness aside, I'm thinking they're right, it'll be one of those three, with a smidge of possibility for Katherine Sebellius.

Nobody has an inside line, but I think the smartest pick for Obama out of that group is Biden, and I think the press is right to consider him the front runner.

I'm with Fjnbk, I'd probably be most excited about Al Gore, but that's not happening.

There's quite a few people I liked more than the names that are left, Jim Webb, Chris Dodd, John Edwards (before I knew about the affair), and even Bill Richardson, but Webb & Edwards are out of consideration, and Dodd & Richardson's names never made it on any of the short lists, even when the short list was 15+ people.

I'm trying to figure out who McCain will pick. I've got zero read on where he's at, but I don't see anyone who'd be a good choice for him. Who'd be able to energize independents without pissing off the base, or who'd energize the base without pissing off independents? Why wouldn't such a person have become the nominee in the first place, if they existed?

If I had to guess, I'll say Romney, which will mean I get to promote old videos of McCain and Romney attacking each other from the Republican debates.

NordlichReiter says...

Off subject, I dont expect any thing different from the presidents.

Because every 2nd term president, makes a damn mess for the next in office. So Obama's first term will be fraught with changing all the shit that Bush and Co screwed up.

I don't agree with Obama, but I will put up with him. So long as he stays a man of his word, which is unlikely given the past trend with politicians.

A half-black former Muslim with the middle name Hussein is trying to occupy the White House. Don't you think he's out on the limb far enough?

>> ^dag:
Wow, so it's Biden - I'm a bit a disappointed -he seems like the "safe" choice.

choggie says...

My prediction would be folks seeing the true colors and motivation of Obummer, and he ain't gonna be no president, thank fucking Godz and Mortals, he's a fucking poison.
Besides, and this being the real wild card and crux of the biscuit.....A Black man in the White House, is too much for most Americans.....and if racism keeps him out, in the immortal words of another famous radical "By Any Means Necessary."

Fuck Obama. A charlatan cunt.

choggie says...

Sorry to keep pissing on your delusional fan-wagon Dag ol' boy....that nasty Aussie sun may be the culprit for the fan-tas-tic pipe dream.....There are no candidates worth watching, the emperor wears no clothes, and needs killin'....

Crosswords says...

Dag, Obama's father was a Muslim, Barack is a Christian, though that deosn't stop the conservatives from alluding to him being Muslim every chance they get to rally up their base.

I'm a little surprised its Biden as well, though not at all upset. I wondered why he wasn't being taken more seriously during the primaries since he seemed to be very knowledgeable about things and was less prone to avoiding questions.
