Misconceptions About Neanderthals
![](http://neatorama.cachefly.net/misscellania/neanderthal.jpg)
I admit that I am a bit speciesist and have stereotypes about neanderthals having sloped brows and being generally kind of thick. This is a great post that sheds some light on those common misconceptions. I love the pic in this thumbnail too. (bigger version after the link)
4 Holy Women Transformed by Cheese

This article delivers. These are indeed holy women, and they were effected by cheese. Yes, it does include the grilled cheese sandwich lady.
Barbie Foot: Barbie Foosball Table

Finally something that satisfies my fantasy of managing a female soccer teem of improbably proportioned players.
Beautiful Rapid Prototyping Art: Chrysanthemum by Michaella Janse van Vuuren

If you're like me- you like your art both nerdy and aesthetically pleasing. I found this work extremely beautiful- and would love to have something like this in the Dag house.
Couple gets hitched in the vomit comet

Hopefully they didn't throw up a little bit in their mouths while taking the vows.

Yay, Vomit Comet! I've actually flown one of those!
I would love to see a Neanderthal cloned back from the dead. Forget Jurassic Park; it's Caveman Park ftw. That article has some very interesting facts. Very worth reading.
Actually the complete genome mapped thing is a bit misleading. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/02/13/science/13neanderthal.html is a bit clearer on it. Best I can make out its more of a 'draft' of a complete genome, meaning it could contain mistakes. Still some pretty awesome stuff, I wouldn't have thought it possible a few years ago. Gotta love it when sci-fi starts to become science fact. Now someone needs to hurry up and invent the transporter, if for no other reason than so we don't have to deal with %&*&% airlines anymore.
