Many (undeclared) dead and channelless videos out there

The VideoSift archive is expanding but its quality decreases if we don't maintain it sufficiently. Apart from our deadpool where videos are waiting to be resurrected, many of the older posts are dead but not yet declared dead (*dead). Also most of the posts from the beginning of VideoSift are channelless or only linked to the firstly created channels.

So hereby I call for archive maintenance: revive videos and make the archive more accessible!

NB:
-Before declaring dead check the URL of the embedded video
-One can find channelless videos by filtering out ALL channels

I just discarded your whole sifted list.. it's clean now

It's a good idea, though. I've stumbled upon quite a few completely channel-less videos too, and do my best to invoke as many channels that fit.

Sifted videos sorted by age:

http://www.videosift.com/search?q=&t=v&u=&s[]=s&o=old&vmin=&vmax=&l=&n=&b=&submit=Search

Lots of old ones that need additional channels, and LOTS of tag cleanup too. A daunting challenge, to say the least. Still, I do my best to clean up old videos whenever I run across ones that need it.

Just make sure blankfist doesn't add "Fear" to every single one of them. I don't care if he's scared of everything.

^fixing videos from the deadpool helps you to get it

@maatc
Oktoberfest and VideoSift maintenance go hand in hand:)

@gwiz665
hey sifted vidz are keepers:)

@kp
tags too indeed, and advanced search is a great for finding old videos that are on a subject you like (e.g. koala) - that are channelless/badly tagged!
It's fun!:)
Many of the best videos were posted in the early days..

^that's doesn't help, but I think after having added 67 pages to channels another 67 pages of channelless videos will show up..it reminds me of google: there the result list also stops after x pages.
