Hey Texas, you're fucked!

Maybe home schooling is the lesser of two evils:

"After three days of turbulent meetings, the Texas Board of Education on Friday approved a social studies curriculum that will put a conservative stamp on history and economics textbooks, stressing the superiority of American capitalism, questioning the Founding Fathers’ commitment to a purely secular government and presenting Republican political philosophies in a more positive light."

History is in a constant state of revision, has been worldwide since the dawn of societal evolution....Hey World, You're fucked!!

Congratulations to Norway, for telling the EU to go fuck itself, time and again.....Think y'all can hold out??
Maybe we in Texas and the US can learn something from youse guyses immigration model as well....

If we could only drop the temp here by about 60 degrees in the summer..our porous border might need no tending to....

choggie says...

yeah and if both of you are representative of your respective states, the whole fucking planet is doomed.

LA/Orange County is the (insert evolutionary dispensable human organ here) of America.

I am the first to not be in denial about how fucking nasty H-town is...^^ above choggie, see here the remedial practice of free-associating to make some point which matches the one on these two's heads-"Derrrt, duhhh. Bush is from Texas so Texas is a shithole.....go fuck yourselves.

The problem with Texas being so backwards (on the whole) is that it's a very large state and one of the wealthiest.

When you combine stupidity with the weight of numbers in terms of population and capital, it is a cause for real alarm.

Being from Colorado, I have a natural mongoose/snake relationship with much of Texas and many Texans, but not all of them.

That said, it's plain that where textbooks are concerned, Texas is rewriting history to suit its own opinions, and I don't care what cha'll say, that jest ain't rite!

Do what now?

peggedbea says...

ahem, texans are throwing a screaming fit about this right now. one group is texas freedom network and you should give it all your money. seriously, those textbooks are going to effect 46-47 other states. so unless you want idiots running the country when you're old and shitting your pants, cough it up.

texas's local political scene, particularly the state board of education, was quietly, maliciously, slowly and deliberately infiltrated over the last decade by the radical christian right and is now flexing it arms because it has gained the power to do so. it is in constant battle with the state legislature. it's not like we all got together and agreed that god should run our school boards, it was a slow and sneaky process that happened while most people weren't watching. people do not pay enough attention to their local politics. this could have happened anywhere but, they targeted texas for the take over because it is so big and has the greatest influence on the rest of the country. google don mccleroy.

and i posted this a few weeks ago so *dupe

oh and having spent the most time in my life in either texas or southern california, i'd take texas any fucking day. houston is gross. but southern california is the gaping twat of america.

My transplanted English prof pal from Oregon commented on the latest news here relative to himself and the students that pass for literate enrolled in the college he works for....he's pretty much in the same camp I'm in...don;t let your kids be defiled by public schools in the U.S...Texas is simply a more finely-focused lens of dissolution....and on your televisions so you had to look, huh??

Again, Robot monkey programming makes for obedient little wage-slaves-

Secondary public schools in general in the states, would not pass the 1945 US school litmus test of acceptable practice and curriculum-People have been duped into settling for a thin veneer of the real as opposed to a fine deep lustre...and all of you here, who have fingers to point, point the one that screams complicity, at the man or woman, or at that emasculated fucking male in the mirror....you too, Norwegian-

Oh yeah, and like bea, I spent plenty of time out of tis state as well, living, working, voting, etc. Cali, Oregon, Colorado, Washington State.....regions mean little in the grand scheme of the country as a whole-yer all in the same federal shit storm of idiocracy to the humans being.

Drax says...

Yeah, don't write this off as a strictly Texas problem. I've seen something very much like it in another state, and it's a bit scary. Texas is a very red state though, so it just makes sense it can be pulled off there.

Never use an average to completely dismiss a population. Everyone's an individual, just some more then others.

edit- Oh and can I add, is there perhaps still some personal differences fueling some of the comments here from both sides? Is this still high school? Just curious.
