FlashVars not working in embeds

Being a 100-goldie, I tried to submit from another site outside of the usual suspects, but it resulted in no success. Comparing the embed code, I think the only thing that could upset the sift gods is the FlashVars param tag, which is needed for the Funny or Die embed tag to id the movie needing to be loaded. Here's the embed I tried to post (The "<" is replaced with "["):

[object width="464" height="388" classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000"][param name="movie" value="http://www2.funnyordie.com/public/flash/fodplayer.swf?1200035364" /][param name="flashvars" value="key=e8e4424115" /][embed width="464" height="388" flashvars="key=e8e4424115" allowfullscreen="true" quality="high" src="http://www2.funnyordie.com/public/flash/fodplayer.swf?1200035364" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"][/embed][/object]

Is there a way to allow for FlashVar params? Or no?

In general just do them embed part, seems to work for most everything I post. It can also be that some sites .swf will not load correctly depending on you http referrer <embed ...bla blah...> </embed>

Thanks for the input, joe, but with my practice you (unfortunately) need both the param and embed tags. It may work fine for your configuration, but maybe not for others on, say, Safari or Netscape or whatever else. As to why Funny or Die didn't add the video id to a query string instead of a FlshVar parameter is beyond me, but they didn't, and without that damn id it just won't play. GRRR!
