Feature Request: Feature Request System

There ought to be a system for all the feature requests that are being made. I think this would not only help the people that are requesting the features, but also make it easier for dag and lucky to keep track of the features that are being requested. I remember lucky opened a thread a while ago, asking people about their requests for VS 3.3. It was probably quite a chore to go through all those comments and "sift out" the good ones/popular ones.

A system for feature requests could make this alot easier for both sides. In my head it looks something like this:

Yes, it would make it easy to determine which features are most desired by the community..but I think arguments in the description/comments are more important than the number of votes.
Also each feature needs to be dealt with separately, not in a cluster.
Big features also need to be separated from the small ones..e.g. accepted for VS 4.0
And what about bugs?

There already is a feature request section (sort of) -- it's called Sift Talk. I know a lot of people like to post random articles here and stuff like that, but technically the main Sift Talk page is supposed to be reserved for Sift-related business. It shouldn't be too difficult for dag and lucky to spot requests, assuming the main page isn't too bogged down with random junk.

Like wot Sarzy said. There's no need to build this sort of feature when you can copy and paste requests and monitor them using whatever tool you want.

And I don't think you want the users getting overly involved in dictating development - that's for Dag and Lucky to prioritise.

Search by channel though, oh yes +1.
