Embedding code for flash is different?

I used to be a good web developer but I'm proving to be more ignorant everyday.

I'm trying to embed the video from http://www.pbs.org/moyers/journal/04232010/watch2.html
to here.

OFC, i've already done so, but with more trouble than usual.

flash didn't seem to like "www.pbs.org/moyers/journal/includes/flvplayer.swf"
but needed "http://www.pbs.org/moyers/journal/includes/flvplayer.swf"

I suppose my pc could be f'ed up.
Also this <param> tag that some embeds are using. WTF is with that.
I feel so fing stupid right now. Please tell me i'm not alone.

I had similar issues trying to embed from here
http://www.archive.org/details/movies

The wayback machine hosts a shitload of video content..hard to find stuff, and one is here on the VS already from there-Each time I attempt to post an embed from a vid there, the system here refers back to the one that is here, recognizing it as the same embed.

I gave up-

No, but I have some other random shit to bitch about:
You know what sucks? YouTube won't let you create embeddable playlists with more than 50 parts anymore.
And they don't tell you about it until after you have spent an hour creating a 137 part playlist!
*RAGE!!

yeah easy enough to get the embed code for "terror of tiny town"
As a bitchy and presumptuous web coder I advise you- choggie not to even ask about that embed code.

writing parsing code is prone to errors and... anyhow

Start begging that site to support HTML5 embeds (like the video tag). I bet we could convice VS admins to support that.
