I would love a collective recently discarded vault, with appropriate alternative BLACK VS with a crypt bucket and everything. That would be awesome.

There are other ways, users maintain various playlist of to be saved videos, Rickegee maintains The Damned and Benjee has his own list.

And as always you can click my name, check my discards and troll through.

However there is longer term problem that can happen as some users can unwittingly revive a duplicate that was discarded by the user after they had realized it was a dupe, or siftbot told them etc.

I usually trawl through people's profiles to find their discards, but a common graveyard would be great.

Can we encourage people to list a reason for a premature discard, like finding out it was a dupe? I'm in the habit of reading though comments to see, first of all, if a discarded video got any votes at all, and also to see if there was a dupe or other problem mentioned.

Right, the reasons for discards would be nice. Also, it would be nice if we could see the number of votes each discarded sift got.

It's a good idea. We would probably provide a link from the "last 5 discards" panel to view all of the discards, sorted in various ways.
