I'm a fan of the Meme channel.

Design! definitely a great idea, though your css will have to kick all kinds of ass. Like the engineering channel, you could include really bad design ideas (like a push bar on doors that need to be pulled open, or Windows) to demonstrate the difference. congrats on the bling too.

A channel idea I had a while back was "Remixers" dedicated to all those pro-am mash-ups, mixes, etc. I created a playlist along those lines when I first joined, but I've been neglecting my playlists for a while.

Well the Viral Channel description reads:
Viral Ads

There are many definitions for the term "viral video" but those that belong in this channel are ones in which a product or service advertisement is attached whether obvious or stealthy.

Another term for videos that belong in this channel may be "viral video advertisements" where the advertiser is attempting to use the rapid proliferation of a popular video to carry along their ad payload to all viewers of the actual video content.

So I guess meme is not the same, since it lacks the commercial intention.

Another downside of Meme:

The channel name would have to change every 15 seconds

i like the idea of Meme and Australiana channel (since there's quite a lot of videos from or about Australia on the sift. and i'm sucking up to dag, of course)

I think Design is a great idea, as well as Australiana and Futurism.

I think you're on to something with the meme channel. That's great. Who cares about languages and countries outside the US. That's all gay stuff. Wait, did I just turn into quantummushroom? Yikes! I meant to say all of your ideas are super awesome and I love everyone and everything in this wide, green, wonderful world! Can't be more anti-quantummushroom than that.

I think you should go with whatever you personally like the most. I appreciate that you're soliciting feedback from us, but it's going to be YOUR channel, so you might as well do whatever makes you the happiest.

Also, I don't think Germany is too limited. It might not be a category that will be as huge as British or Canada, but so what? Personally, I like going to StumbleUpon video and checking out stuff in the France or Netherlands categories. They're not big "channels" there either, but again, so what? Cooking and Mystery are two channels here that aren't very big, but I'm still glad we have them.

Consider all the possibilities with Germany. You have German:

- music
- art
- history
- technology
- politics
- travel
- architecture

..and so on. Think about it.

This is not to say that your other channel ideas are bad. They all sound like they have potential. Therefore choose the one you like the most. You just made diamond, you earned the privilege, so don't leave it up to a committee. This is your chance to be boss. Whatever you decide I'm sure people here will be happy to submit videos for your new channel. Good luck!

I know the final decision is up to me and I am just trying to see the response to the different ideas (Like yours! ) to be able make a good decision.
In the end I will of course choose what I like best. After all I will be stuck with the channel for a while, so it better be good for myself, but also the community.

I got to diamond by the votes of the community, so I think it is just fair to ask them what they think. Just like putting a video out there and letting democracy get to work on it.

And I found 24 comments with the term ass gravy.

I very much agree with this. I think they are all good ideas- but it comes down to your interests.
