Cat Door hacked to keep cats carrying mice out

Flo has a habit of catching various animals, dragging them inside through the cat door, and letting them loose so they can be chased for hours. To put an end to this we have built a computer-controlled device that visually determines if Flo is carrying anything in her mouth when she enters, and if she does, it simply does not let her in.

Very cool. This was actually included in a Neatorama weekly roundup a couple of weeks back.

Not to be a killjoy, but I think this would be much better posted in your personal blog than in Sift Talk (which is reserved mainly for "VideoSift, our community, or online videos in the news").

I would have to agree with Lucky. To some extent we introduced the blog feature to help keep sift talk about the sift. Right now you might have an aversion to posting there because it seems like less people will see your posts, but in the log run my guess is that the blogs will become more popular than ST. ST is about the sift and internet video at large, this specific video would have been happier in the blog area.

Ah ok I see... I don't post a lot of sift talk posts as you all may have noticed, I attribute it to a combination of having too many things to do to being distracted on other things.. I'll have to get used to using the personal blog and actually spend some time in establishing it's "character".

Sry guys, thanks for pointing it out.
