Bettie Page dies at age 85
"With deep personal sadness I must announce that my dear friend and client Bettie Page passed away at 6:41pm PST this evening in a Los Angeles hospital. She died peacefully but had never regained consciousness after suffering a heart attack nine days ago.
She captured the imagination of a generation of men and women with her free spirit and unabashed sensuality. She is the embodiment of beauty.
Statement by Mark Roesler, business agent for Bettie Page"

Sad to say that I had no idea she was still alive.
.
That's ok, dag. She hid from public view for a long time.
Yay! *happy

Wake up, Siftie! Lazy tin can. UsesProz, it looks like you'll need to remove the happy tag by hand to undo my mirthless and tactless joke.
I'm sorry, but who was Betty Page?
what? im always happy when sick old people get to go. keep happy tags!
I thought it was cool how her only request, in every interview, was that nobody took her picture. And basically nobody did.
I found one pic on the net of her with Hugh Hef, but I know what she means.
Don't we all want to be remembered for our best?
She was an icon just as great as Marilyn, or Chaplin, or Fields.
Her image will live on for many years.
I salute her.
I like to make dramatic points.
I do that by making every sentence its own paragraph.
I salute me.
^ You are jealous of my years of training as a technical writer.
Face it.
Now get back to molesting your cat(s).
^rougy, thanks for sifting this!:)

Old people shouldn't be ashamed of their looks, these days there's a relative overvaluation of adolescence..each age has its specific merits..

True, I just think that of all the people who have interviewed her over the years, that every single one of them honored her wishes because you basically can't find a picture of her other than from her pinup years...I just thought that was neat that her wishes were honored.
I wouldn't say she was very hot, but she was one cool lady.
Her image was iconic, by not letting it her image age we will still be
fappi...enjoying them years later...On the same order we always think of Bruce Lee as being in his combative prime and James Dean as that young bastard from Rebel Without A Cause.
