Bad ads?
This morning I was going through the unsifted videos and all of a sudden firefox takes me to a warning page, telling me that the page I'm trying to visit probably contains selfinstalling trojans.
WTF? Videosift ain't got to trojans. Probably a glitch in firefox I think. Go back to videosift by entering the url in the url bar in a new tab, just to verify. As expected, all is well.
Going through the unsifted videos again, and while paging through the pages, I notice that a lot of ads are trying to set cookies (I set up firefox that I have to verify every cookie that gets set), something that didn't happen before. And about on page 8 of unsifted, the malware warning page pops up again. Curious, I ignore it this time and see what happens. For some reason I'm being redirected _away_ from videosift, and some page from www.vav-scanner.com loads, telling me I'm infected by malware (under linux.... riiiiight) and tries to start installing it's "Malware remover".
So it seems that firefox was right, but the redirect is strange. I didn't click on any link, the redirect started by itself.
Combined with the ton of banners that are trying to set cookies, could it be that videosift changed it's banner provider and the new one has a couple of bad eggs in its basket?

Ah, the irony. After posting this, I got the warning page and the faux malware site again. Looks like a bad banner already. Something from fastclick.net...

Hey srd - thanks for letting us know - I'll find out where the bad ad is coming from and get rid of it.
The offending URL to the banner is http://software-traffic.com/go.php?id=2523
I've tried to go through the documents that are loaded through the banner provider tree, but I can't really find what document is pulling that one in.
spray it with bug killer, beat onnit with a shoe....!!!make it splatterized!!
Just to confirm, my girl was saying the same thing happened to her yesterday, but I didn't pay no mind because it only happened once and she had multiple tabs open. Go figure.

Beat me to it lol. Yeah I didn't think much of it 'cause I tried to make it happen again and I couldn't. But yeah, I got redirected when either closing a tab or accidentally clicking an ad. Hope you guys get it fixed quick

Woah - first paired avatars I've seen. I think I've found the culprit and fixed this. Please let me know if it still happens.
Looking good so far. Thanks for the prompt action.
Happened to me just last night
