Honesty, I think it's just that men getting hurt is inherently funnier than women getting hurt. If it were a woman in this ad howling in pain, you'd probably be just as likely to feel bad for her than laugh. I think it's hard-wired in us, especially for guys I guess, to have a more visceral reaction when we see a woman in pain (probably because, from a purely evolutionary standpoint, women are to be protected while other guys are the competition). I think this is the same reason why women tend to be the victims in horror movies -- because it elicits more of a reaction from the viewer, and thus makes for a more effective film.


And men don't look nearly as good topless or in the shower.

In NY it's legal, as determined by a 1992 ruling, for women to be topless anywhere it's legal for men to be.
