I respectively disagree.

This is the buy of the year. 40% off from its high. Not from anything Tesla has done ( or not done) but from the economic state America is going through.

I don't think this will turn around till our leadership changes in 2024

Since last qtr 2021 Tesla opened 2 Giga Factories Texas and in Germany. They are ramping up and will get full speed in 2 years. This year expect 200 thousand from these as they ramp.

Giga Shanghai was shut down and lost 50, 000 vehicles of production. They reopened fully 2 weeks ago . China economy is taking a big hit. But what isn't sold will be ship and sold elsewhere.

2022 yearly estimate production is still about 1.5 M vehicles for the year.

Wait time from order to delivery is average 7 months. Tesla increase their prices 8 times last year to keep this 7 months from getting worse.

Demand out strips supply.

Gas at 5$/gal isn't helping the ICE vehicles at all and will push EV demand even higher.

Like I said

This is the buy of the year. 40% off from its high.
Also looks like a stock split of 3 to 1 is coming. This does nothing but make it cheaper for those who would like to enter this. One can do so at a lower, affordable price point.

Buy and hold

Buy 10 shares and hold for 5 o 10 years.

FYI.
My dad passed away last month on the 28th. I've been out of work tending to him and now settling the estate.

Ouch. From $1222 to $702 and projected below $600. Gotta sting for anyone who took @bobknight33 ‘s advice, especially anyone “all in”.

The idea that it might bounce back like it once rose is naïve too…with serious production and labor issues and no longer being the only game in town, not even the best anymore by multiple different measurements, Tesla is looking like it’s bubble might be bursting.

Ouch.

Somewhere, out there, are a group of kids in a garage learning and practicing to use the weapons they chose to fight with. They are honing their skills and putting every effort into being marksmen.

Their weapons of choice have been proven to be highly efficient and affective in a clandestine way. Not by design but by happenstance.

Their dream is to be the next big hit rock band.

One anomaly in this: I don't know what the song writer's intent was, but the video shows an artillery shot in association with Davy Crockett . Although there was a nuclear armed "Davy Crockett" artillery round during the 1960's, the context in the lyrics suggests Davy Crockett of the coonskin cap fame (played by Fess Parker in the mid-50's TV series) who was (wildly) popular at about the same time as Peter Pan (played by Mary Martin) was a big hit - and the only World Series win (1955) by the Brooklyn Dodgers.

176 Shocking Things Donald Trump Has Done This Election

notarobot says...

@eric3579, I agree with you. Hillary's reputation took a big hit after the DNC Leaks broke during the convention.

@newtboy, here's how I think of the campaign. (Please pardon me for this silly fable. I just kinda got writing and my creative side just sorta took over, and I just kinda had fun with it.)

.. ..

As the primary campaign advanced it was clear that Scissors was the front runner in the Rep's side. Unless something changed drastically, he would be become the nominee.

On the Dem’s side, the race was not yet decided. Rock was behind, but not by much. He was quickly closing in on Paper’s lead. Rock was hoping that his strategy of being consistent over time would prevail and win him votes. In the beginning Paper had taken off an airplane. Laughing at how slow Rock was to gain speed. But now Paper’s once comfortable head start was being called into question. Could Rock’s momentum grow fast enough to overtake her?

Paper had gone through extensive planning (on paper) long before the election. Paper wanted to keep news of Rock from reaching the voters. The idea as was to keep Rock "covered over" to the point that many of voters just didn't know about him. They just saw the old familiar name of "Paper" on the ballot and went with that. They had little or no exposure to Rock.

Rock was on a roll, and it was clear that it was gathering no moss.

Since so many voters relied on “traditional” media for information, it wasn’t too difficult to keep pro-Paper ads on the radio, and television, and in newspapers. It was expensive, but Paper seemed to have an unlimited supply of money to fund the campaign. It was almost like Paper had bought the press...

Though Rock started to break through into the areas that Paper had been dominant, the Strategy worked. Rocks downhill momentum wasn’t able to fully catch Paper’s airplane—head-start.

Paper would win the primary and go on to face Scissors in the general.

But at the Democratic Candidate Coronation Ceremony, something terrible happened!

It turns out that someone was keeping a paper-trail on Paper’s dealings. Paper had written many correspondences, and many of those letters had reached the hands of Wikileaks, which had finally chosen to publish the secrets!

The strategies Paper had used to ensure victory over Rock—the Cover-Up Campaign—were revealed. The fundraising done by The Paper Foundation to keep money flowing around laws were becoming clear.

And each week and new secret seemed to drip onto Paper’s hat…

What happens next? We don’t know. There are so many questions! Could a boat float if made of Panama Papers? How deep will the leaks get? What other secrets will be revealed before the final election? Will Paper win over former Rock supporters now that the reality of the Cover-Up-Campaign had been uncovered? Who will win the final election? Can Paper beat Scissors?

Could Scissors have been secretly helping Paper out behind the scenes out of a fear of facing Rock? Could Paper have been helping Scissors in the early parts of his primary campaign out of a fear of facing Ben Carson?

Tune in again for out next episode of House of Cards I mean Rock-Paper-Scissors to find out!

//

//

Okay, I hope you read that with in the lighthearted voice it was intended. And I’m not hiding my bias. This story was mostly about Paper—who (at first) I thought would be a fine second choice.

(I was rooting for Rock the whole time! I liked they way he rolled!)

Trump was Scissors: Wouldn't hesitate to cut his opponents with his uh.. 'wit.'
Sanders was Rock: Consistent over time. (Not blown around by the wind)
Hillary was like Paper: Thin, like her integrity.

And thanks! Love the series - it has stood the test of time. I still can't help laughing at the phrases "You stupid woman" and "Listen very carefully, I shall tell this only once".
This show was wildly popular in Europe in the 80's, but I guess it wasn't such a big hit in the states...

Clueless Gamer: Conan Reviews CoD Advanced Warfare

MilkmanDan says...

Only way to make Quicktime Events lamer is to apply their EPIC BUTTON MASH principles to thoroughly NON-EPIC things...

I really enjoyed Shadows of Mordor, but it took a big hit by having the *midpoint* boss be "EPIC ACTUAL BATTLE", and then the two *final* bosses being "EPIC SNEAK UP AND STAB DUDE IN BACK 3 TIMES" followed by "WE RAN OUT OF IDEAS, SO RANDOMLY PRESS A FEW BUTTONS IN THIS QUICKTIME EVENT". /sigh

SDGundamX said:

This is probably the best one they've done.

That "Press X to pay respects" bullshit is a new low for gaming and worthy of all the ridicule Conan heaped on it.

Colbert interviews Anita Sarkeesian

Mordhaus says...

Actually she doesn't need to call herself a feminist, because she a widely recognized one. I was simply quoting what she said regarding the 'new wave' of feminists that have arisen in the past few years. This group is simply the next wave of PC thought police that have decided what is good and right for us to consume.

We both have pretty strong opinions on the issue and I doubt that either of us are going to persuade the other. I will say that in this day and age of simple graphic games being big hits and app store games also taking off, the market is there for people to try making games that cover more diverse scenarios. If there is a large another audience that hungers for the games, then they will be made and they will be successful. If they are successful long enough, AAA tier developers will take notice and start making them as well.

But, in the end, we are talking about games. They are fun, but there has not been one yet that made me want to start picking up hookers and beating them or pretending to be a stealth killer. Games do not program our thoughts and morals; our families, friends, and other life experiences do.

There are serious problems with Sommers video. If anyone hasn't seen it yet, watch it here.

Basically, her argument is "I looked at some literature (I'm not going to tell you what though) and I concluded there is no misogyny in gaming. You can trust me because I call myself a Feminist."

That's called "appeal to authority" and it's a logical fallacy.

The hugely ironic thing is that anti-Sarkeesian people are constantly going on about Sarkeesian is not qualified to critique games because she only played some of the games she talks about in the videos and watched YouTube game footage of the rest. Yet Sommers admits in the start of this video that she hasn't played video games since Pac Man in the 80s! By anti-Sarkeesian standards, she's even less qualified to talk about games than Sarkeesian is.

But that doesn't stop people who don't like Sarkeesian from trotting out this video as some supposedly magical proof that Sarkeesian's arguments have been debunked.

Between Two Ferns: Brad Pitt also Louis CK Stops By

csnel3 says...

Since we are sharing stories of our use of illegal drug paraphernalia, here's one of mine. When I was in high school ( all these stories should start with a variation of this opening), my friends and I took a cardboard shipping tube about 4 inches in diameter and 4 or 5 feet long and made a bong out of it. It took three good pulls to get the smoke up to our lungs . All that lung work followed by a great big bong hit was VERY effective. We named it the BONGZOOKA. It was a big hit (pun intended). We kept that thing around our whole junior year. I too grew up and quit smoking the weed, ...but.. I miss the 70s and the bongzooka.

lucky760 said:

When I was in high school I smoked out of a 6-foot bong at a party. There's no way I had the lung capacity to clear it, but I tried my best and sucked maybe half of it down. The next thing I knew, I was waking up lying back in a chair and things were missing from my pockets.

(For the record, I actually haven't smoked the weed since high school.)

Only Canadian Hockey Fights End This Way

AeroMechanical says...

Absolutely. I don't mean this in the WWF sense of "fake," but certainly in the sense that the players are obligated to fight as part of the show, know this, and don't really want to hurt one another. They're cooperatively putting on a show to get the spectators riled up. It's not stage fighting, but it's not real fighting either.

The main point regarding this video is that two men of that size and athleticism in the same situation, were they not holding back almost entirely, would kill each other in short order. Even so, I'd agree that they're hitting hard enough so that they're risking unnecessary brain damage over the longer term, which is why I think it's cruel. As they say about boxers: it's not the big hits that do them in, it's the accumulation of all the little hits.

Of course, there is a part of me that likes the fights too, but I personally would prefer ice hockey without them.

Fairbs said:

Do you seriously think hockey fights are fake? Some of them are staged, which to me is stupid, but even those are real fights. I like some fights, but due to concussions, it won't be long before it's mostly out of the game.

How does YouTube work and why do videos buffer?

VoodooV says...

why the hell is it a big challenge? I realize that yes, Internet connections can be flaky and you can't always control it,

but to me, this is easily solved by simply WAITING and let the buffer fill up. But in certain cases, the buffer will only fill if the video is playing.

when you hit play, throw up a screen saying please wait while we download your video so that it can play in an uninterrupted fashion.

but nah, they'll never do that because we've allowed attention deficit disorder to flourish throughout the land so we are simply unwilling to tolerate waiting a bit.

I used to do this ALL the time when apple quicktime trailers for movies first became big. Hit play, but then immediately hit pause and wait for that bar to fill all the way to the right. Sure, sometimes I got impatient and hit play sooner when I thought the buffer was going to fill before I finished watching the video, and yes, sometimes I got burned on this, but hey, it was on me, not on my ISP, or the video I was watching.

You can't even do that with youtube videos though, If i hit play, and immediately hit pause to wait for the buffer to fill, it never will, because they've got some stupid rule in there to only fill the buffer if the video is playing. Get rid of that stupid rule and allow the buffer to fill and I guarantee you the buffering symbol will go away for a lot of people.
