Eric Winston Tears into Fans Who Cheered Quarterbacks Injury

Yogi says...

>> ^bareboards2:

promote this: Winston waited for members of the media to gather by his locker after the game, then told them: "If this isn't posted in the paper or run on your (website), this is the last time you're going to talk to me."

As for the Nascar analogy, I don't think the fans CHEER when an accident happens.
I grew up seeing footage of football stadiums going silent when a player was hurt or knocked out, and cheering when they stood up again.
You guys who are justifying the cheering are part of the problem that Eric is talking about. So numb to common human decency that you argue about what he is saying.
Cheer the big hits. Don't cheer a human comatose on the field.
In my opinion. Except Eric is right, and therefore I am right.

I'm sorry but this country is filled with blood thirsty bastards who love it when anyone with brown skin is killed in a horrific fashion. Is it that much of a leap to think they'd cheer a guy they don't like being seriously injured? We're not evolved as much as we'd like to think we are.

Patrice Oneal - Typical white guy crime

"Im not a big fan of Ricky Gervais, but he did say in an radio-interview many years ago that the only american stand-up-artist he really admired was Patrice."
That doesn't seem right. He's always said that he was mainly influenced by American comedians.

hi sandman, i gladly admit that you are right, ofc he he was influenced by americans, but this was as far as i remember a small independant radiostation where he said something like that, and didnt feel need to mention some mainstream comedians. i cant remember his exact words, admire is likely not the right word, but he was talking about stand-up comedians, and if he had to mention one that he felt was worth mentioning, it was patrice. think it was because of his bravery and honesty, he would just talk about things as as they are and fear nothing, thats why he never became mainstream, a big hit. patrice hit me straight in the heart when i saw him first time, because im am a european that used to live in the states, and i wasnt used to seeing an american being so brutally honest about what amaericans are, talk so straight about raceism or relations between the sexes. you cant say whatever you want in the states if you want to become successful, but patrice didnt hesitate to do so. things are not only fxxked in the states, over here is the same situation, except i think europeans in some cases, not all, are a little better at admitting their flaws. patrice was a thinker, always questioning things, and therefor he saw the crazy sillyness in our lives and could make fun of it. gervais could have mentioned hicks, carlin and so on....the only humble american comedian i know of alive today is lewis black, chris rock is good at pokin fun at racism, patrice just took it one step further.

How many bands flounder on their next album after their "first big hit"? How many comedians end up seeming like a "bad impression of themselves 5 years ago"? How many authors seem to just coast later in their career?

Quite a few probably, but then artistic endeavors aren't like making widgets in a factory, after your "first big hit" you don't just pump out a thousand more of those and you're set. I'm sure even successful bands may put out a second album that was maybe a lot like the first one, which some people liked and others thought was boring, then they try a different direction in their third album and the old school fans hate it but people who didn't listen to them before pick it up.

Does he go onto to talk about the phase many artists hit where they're now capable of doing good work, but have lost their taste - they can no longer discern whether what they're doing is good?

How many directors go back to a great work a decade later and take a big dump on it? Only one that I can think of. But you get the idea.

Jani Lane on writing Cherry Pie

Duckman33 says...

>> ^shuac:

Wow. Uncle Tom's Cabin is so clearly a better song too. No sarcasm here.

Ultimately it was his undoing. He wrote so many more better songs than Cherry Pie. Uncle Tom's Cabin became a pretty big hit for them as well. I enjoyed the shit out of singing that song in my band and always hated doing Cherry Pie. I can't even imagine how he felt having to sing it. I actually felt really bad for him when I was watching this documentary.

Cee Lo Green "Thank You" A Firefighter Tribute

SWBStX says...

Hey I really appreciate everything you do. Laying your lives on the line and all. I think I'll do a tribute song. But I'm not gonna take the time or effort to make a whole new song, I'll just change the lyrics to my last big hit...

I thought you were better than this Cee Lo...

I'm almost afraid to ask, but is it going to be available on PC?

Sadly, no -- at least not right away. Pretty much all Rockstar games have eventually made their way over to the PC though, so I'd imagine this one won't be any different.

The most insightful, in-depth, hard-hitting sports interview

MonkeySpank says...

I guess many people missed the joke. This guy is perfectly normal. He was messing with the interviewer, and I quote "In December, Venter was warned by the ERC after giving a bizarre post-match interview following the Saracens defeat to Racing Métro 92 in the Heineken cup. Venter gave extremely short answers to every question posed to him, and afterwards admitted that he was inspired from a comedy sketch from the film Mike Bassett: England Manager which he had recently watched.[3] The interview has since become a big hit on youtube."

Tears for fears- Break it down again- Live

BoneRemake says...

So those are my dreams
And these are my eyes
Stand tall like a man
Head strong like a horse

When it's all mixed up
Better break it down
In the world of secrets
In the world of sound

It's in the way you're always hiding from the light
See for yourself you have been sitting on a time bomb
No revolution maybe someone somewhere else
Could show you something new about you and your inner song
And all the love and all the love in the world
Won't stop the rain from falling
Waste seeping underground
I want to break it down

Break it down again

So those are my schemes
And these are my plans
Hot tips for the boys
Fresh news from the force

When it's all mixed up
Better break it down
In the world of silence
In the world of sound

" No sleep for dreaming" say the architects of life
Big bouncing babies, bread and butter can I have a slice
They make no mention of the beauty of decay
Blue, yellow, pink umbrella save it for a rainy day
And all the love and all the love in the world
Won't stop the rain from falling
Waste seeping underground
I want to break it down

Horsin' around
Pray to power
Play to the crowd with your big hit sound
And they won't simmer won't simmer, won't simmer down
Play to the crowd
Pay to the crowd
Play yeah yeah

It's in the way you're always hiding from the light
Fast off to heaven just like Moses on a motorbike
No revolution maybe someone somewhere else
Could show you something new to help
With the ups and downs
I want to break it down
Break it down again

Break it down again
No more sleepy dreaming
No more building up
It is time to dissolve
Break it down it again
No more sleepy dreaming

Shameless Reality TV Show is Shameless

What an awful concept. Trashing perfectly good prizes and scaring the shit out of people, all in the name of entertainment.
It will be a big hit.

It says on the youtube page "answer trivia questions in a timely fashion to keep replicas of their precious prizes" but I get your point.

I just hope they don't keep that voiceover.... makes me want to stab my eardrums.
