TDS: Mother F#@kers - Abortion Business For Profit

Jesus_Freak says...

Ah, yes. God dispenses wrath and judgment on nations, so He must be pro-abortion. He's either sovereign to judge ALL nations, or He's subject to being judged by your own intellectual evaluations. Good luck with that.

If the God talk is tainting your emotional objectivity, choose from an array of secular arguments. Look at what the Nazi's did to the mentally handicapped via medical experimentation after they were deemed not fully human. How about the pre-emancipation notion that slaves were a fraction of human value. How did our humanity stack up in those cases? Saying an unborn baby <> a mother as long as they're making physical contact with the birth canal is a slippery slope of morality. I just don't understand how few of you see that.

Water Droplet Bouncing on a Superhydrophobic Nanotube Array

Graphene is essentially the same thing, you could say that nanotubes are tubes made out of graphene. Graphene and nanotubes require the same kind of manufacturing. AFAIK they're farther ahead on developing nanotubes on a large scale than graphene, but any advancements on nanotubes will likely result in a boost to graphene development as well.

When they get a process going that can make carbon nanotubes at industrial volumes it will be as significant (if not more) than the development of steel. This is THE materials science breakthrough of our generation.
A 1 mm thick nanotube wire could hold 6,000 KG of weight. It is thirty times stronger than Kevlar and nearly a hundred times stronger than the finest steel.

gnarly. you seem to know your carbon nanotubes, so care to explain how the potential projected practical applications of graphene stack up to them?

F-4 vs. Concrete wall

TYT: Fox News Disses Glenn Beck

RedSky says...

Yeah but Hannity and O'Reilly are on those posters.

I doubt it's anything significant, perhaps they want to take the attention off him a bit if he's been receiving a bout of negative press lately. 2 million viewers still stacks up to a lot as Cenk pointed out, I doubt they will get rid of him unless they're absolutely forced to.

EveryDay Looper - Coolest iPhone App?

volumptuous says...

I've been using this for the last few days and it's a lot shittier than expected.

No stereo, very noisy limiting.

In regards to how this stacks up to other loop devices, this is pretty shit. Most other prosumer loopers have stuff like fx, stereo input/output as well as midi. Totally different ballgame. But it's a fun and cheap little app nonetheless.

Wingnut Media and the Fringe: A Growing History of Violence

The art of misdirection. While the radical left-wing moonbat media (all but FOX) makes this yet another exploitive Rahm Emmanuel-level "crisis", Obama's failed economic and social policies stack up like dirty dishes. You can't just sweep 10% unemployment and kissing Arab tyrant ass at the expense of Israel under the rug.
Welcome back, Carter!

People as stupid as you are why this problem exists.

That Rush Limbaugh can spew hatred all day long and then claim that the empathetic, tree-hugging, peace-loving liberals are the evil party and there are sheep that hear this abortion of logic and actually BELIEVE it, that's what's causing the problem.

These extremists and their brainwashed followers are an extremely small minority. You are consistently delusional, so it's no surprise you've decided that you're some how a great driving force in national politics. You lost that election. You got raped in that election. RAPED. The national climate hasn't changed THAT much, even despite your never-ending draw of the victim card and spewing of baseless hatred and lies.

We all know that if the economy recovers under Obama that you're going to credit Dubya. We already know that, because that's the pattern with absolutists who don't give a shit about reality, and you're obviously brainwashed by a couple of them. Never mind that you're judging the man on policies that have barely had any time to make an effect. And who even knows what social policies you're talking about, since practically nothing has really changed on that front.

Please, sit down and stfu and next time you deem us worthy to share in your delusional world, please bring some solid proof to back up the dreck. tia

You have to be joking mate, the *lack* of regulation of the banking industry helped cause a complete collapse in credit. Sorry I just think your arguments don't stack up to the real world.

Whats the best console? (User Poll by Throbbin)

JAPR says...

I've got access to all three on a daily basis, and I can definitely agree that they're all fantastic consoles.

The 360 is perfect for FPS games, though I'd much prefer to play Street Fighter 4 on the PS3. The Wii is amazing for it's great Nintendo franchise exclusives like Zelda, Mario, and Smash Bros., but if there's a game on it that's on the other systems, you can bet it looks and plays better on said other systems.

Ultimately, if we're going to go for the most bang for your buck, it's got to be either the 360 or the Wii, since the PS3 is still lacking in enough exclusives to be really competitive (though MGS4 is GODLY). It just depends if you want more "serious" gaming or more of the classic Nintendo experience. For the overall fun factor that both new and old gamers can get out of it though, I'd have to say that the Wii is probably the "best" system in terms of both having good games, appealing to huge numbers of people (look at how its sales stack up against the other consoles), and being extremely cheap.

Now if only Nintendo would fix the Wii's terrible, terrible online playing options.

F-16 Falcon Supersonic Low Pass

joedirt says...

>> ^Sylvester_Ink:
As Payback already pointed out, it's definitely not supersonic.
Also, one of the characteristics of a sonic boom is the loud CRACK that you get as it passes by. This is loud enough to deafen people and shatter windows for at least 100 meters around.

Um.. the sonic boom I thought was at the moment you exceed speed of sound when you stack up the soundwaves.

Do you think all planes flying at supersonic CONSTANTLY emit a sonic boom everywhere they fly? Wouldn't that make fighter plane detection pretty easy?

F-16 Falcon Supersonic Low Pass

rychan says...

Isn't the most perceptually noticeable sonic boom right as the sound barrier is crossed. That's when all of the pressure waves are "stacking up" on top of each other because the vehicle is matching speeds with the pressure waves.

That's what this wikipedia diagram that you just linked seems to show:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Mach_cone.svg

If Mach is significantly greater than 1, then the pressure waves on that diagram are as far spaced as the ones for subsonic flight.
