Spider Attack:Watch me/Ant overcome a spider and a surprise!

Getting your dog to tow you on a skateboard

xxovercastxx says...

I made the mistake of doing this with my dog when I was a kid. She was pulling me with a light jog and then a cat ran across the road and she went full sprint. She was 90lbs, probably more than I weighed at the time. I never tried that shit again.

Big Ten Runner Heather Dorniden Falls And . . .

That's a 10k...that makes sense you have a LOT of time and you can make it up if you put in an incredible performance. 600 meters is not very far, so making up the distance in that short amount of space and time you have is ridiculous. The only excuse is that they're not really at the top of their game...they rabbited themselves out at the beginning or something.
Very true, though he also caught up in under 150 meters (and made a new world record). Of course doing it in a sprint is much more impressive, but this video did bring back memories from those races.

great running, I have vivid memories of an Olympic event - 10km track I think, and a Kenyan runner tripped over and lost like 50m to the pack - he literally went nuts and within a lap had sprinted to the front of the pack again - adrenaline ftw.
Lasse Virén also pulled off something very similar in the 10k @ 1972 Olympics.

WTF! Geese sprinting down the street

Football Touchdowns just got that more confusing

Skeeve says...

Exactly. It wasn't an incomplete pass, it was a fumble (as the ball was knocked out of the QB's hand while his arm was back) and, as the whistle wasn't blown, it was a live ball that could be picked up for a short sprint to the end zone.
>> ^Stingray:

It's always seems like these are very controversial, but in this case he clearly was not moving his arm when he was hit... therefore fumble recovery leading to touchdown. It was very surprising to me when watching the game that no one reacted sooner than they did to pick it up and run it in. You gotta pay attention to the whistle.

For those Americans who didn't get the reference, Orange is a wireless carrier in Europe, like Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, etc.

Apple does like to switch dongles pretty often. Seems they've finally settled on Mini-DisplayPort. Problem is they charge $29 for them.

ant, banana would not fit into the double-entendre theme because it doesn't actually mean anything when it comes to computers or electronics.

Middle School Football Trick Play

shadownc says...

I hate stuff like this. I just don't think it's a very sporting thing to do. You're basically playing on the fact that the other team will be too afraid of tackling the guy because they believe it to be a dead ball situation. They are only middle school kids...I would be absolutely embarrassed to do this if I were a coach.

And further it's not a very responsible play call by the coach IMO because what if one of the other team's players is wise to what's going on and takes a 10 yard sprint and absolutely obliterates your QB? You are putting a kid in a pretty bad spot here.

Fastest Soccer Goalkeeper in History

sadicious says...

There is nothing optical or an illusion about this, but your point is sound. Someone who has to do one full sprint in the match is much faster then anyone who is expected to dodge around the field for 90 minutes, even more so for one of the others also dribbling a ball about.
>> ^lucky760:

I think it's mostly an optical illusion because the main point of reference is trying to dribble the ball, not run full speed ahead.

The Improbable Goal - Roberto Carlos

GenjiKilpatrick says...

In a full sprint with a bouncing target at an angle of .8 degrees from nearly 90 feet away..?

Sounds like one tough soccer/football tryout @_@

He kicked the ball on the outside of his foot...they do it all the time.

I just bought a HTC Legend - any tips? (Geek Talk Post)

+1 for Barcode Scanner (it's not great at 1D codes, but very good with 2D QR-codes)
Dolphin Browser HD (better than the built in browser)
PdaNet (allows single laptop usb or bluetooth tethering, instead of paying $30 extra per month for Wifi hotspot)
Angry Birds (highly addictive game)
Andoku (best free sudoku of the several I tried)
Fring (multi protocol chat)

Also, in defense of Advanced Task Killer - it only kills what you ask it to. If you don't get overzealous with the settings, it's useful in killing some of the provider-installed crapware that seems to randomly run in the background for no reason (Sprint Zone, ESPN, Nascar, Amazon MP3 - all apps that I can't delete without "rooting" the phone).
