Indeed, amazingly the wind power in Texas actually met expectations of the power it would provide in the cold snap.

The trouble is wind is so undependable they only counted on there being about 10% of capacity available. Wind gets absolved of blame by having almost no expectation that it will be available in the first place.

Then we disagree. I say prosecuting a criminal is never the wrong move, especially when so many insist it’s not over yet, and that there was election fraud so no democracy, and that the treasonous insurrection was a patriotic act by law abiding patriots. As for wasting money, estimates are we’ve spent well over 1/2 BILLION because of the coup attempt. Trying for some accountability to give the next attempted dictator pause, and force the right to distance themselves from their cancer or publicly embrace treason, is well worth the price, if it avoids a repeat it’s a 100/1 savings.
Then there’s the ‘sending a message to Biden that this isn’t ok’ angle. If he loses, do you want a repeated attempted coup? Consider Biden’s approval rating is insanely higher than Trump’s ever was....and if a January coup has no consequences, he’s obligated to try.

I must point out that, if, as he now claims but lost the vote, you can’t hold trial on an ex president....didn’t McConnel intentionally subvert justice by delaying a trial until he said it was too late and now unconstitutional? Shouldn’t he have a consequence?

Seven executives of top pharmaceutical companies were grilled before a congressional panel Tuesday about the nation's skyrocketing drug prices

Sen. Ron Wyden, the ranking member of the committee, blasted Big Pharma as "morally repugnant" and accused the companies of operating in an "unacceptable" way. He grew testy when he believed the executives weren't being forthcoming about reducing list prices.

"All of this other stuff is window dressing," Wyden snapped. "You are stonewalling on the key issue."

At one point, he pressed the chairman and CEO of AbbVie, maker of the arthritis drug Humira, which, according to a recent New York Times story, has doubled in list price since 2012, from about $19,000 a year to $38,000. Wyden wanted to know whether the company makes money on drugs in Germany and other Westernized nations where patients pay, on average, 40% less than Americans.

"Yes, we do," CEO Richard Gonzalez said.
If that's the case, Wyden said, "you can do the same thing in the United States."

"How is that not gouging the American consumer?" he asked. "You are willing to sit by and hose the American consumer and give breaks to those overseas."

Nope. We have folks that believe in the Constitution and see it being ignored by 1/2 people and the Democratic party is right there trying to tear it down. Flaws and all, this is still the greatest country in the world and your side wants to destroy it.
