Dumbest Criminals On Earth

Feeding Cattle Seaweed Cuts Methane Significantly

Stormsinger says...

Honestly, that sounds way too good to be true. I'd love to see something about the metabolic pathways that explain how replacing such a small amount of feed could lead to 90% reduction in methane.

This screams for a LOT of replication (and explanation) before anyone gets too excited about it.

Interesting video, though.

How To Make It Look Longer

BSR says...

I was tricked into watching this by the title with a two letter word. "It."

Then "It" went small again.

Raccoons attacks little girl

not judging but am more amazed than amused.

the poise of the woman to get her daughter into the house, while handling a rabid animal biting her - THEN stopping in mid-toss to warn a neighbor BEFORE she tossed it (not a bad toss either) - found it similar awe-inspiring.

not to say folks might not rib her for a few days afterward...

"jack's been looking for a bouncer, why not give him a call?"

"suddenly, around 7 AM every morning, we're having all sorts of small animals running by the house like they're afraid of something. isn't that the time you take your kid to school?"

"bet now when you tell your daughter to clean her room or your husband to pick up his socks - THEY LISTEN!"

"gonna call you the next time one of those missionaries stops by the house. would be worth money to see someone hammer-toss a mormon."

of course, she might be like...

Texas's new 31 billion dollar seawall to be constructed

newtboy says...

So…a state that denies climate change wants twenty billion of federal tax money (60 billion+ before its finished) to protect the tax exempt industry most responsible for climate change from the destruction is brings that they deny is real….all on taxpayer money, not a bit industry funded.

I grew up in Houston/Galveston. This is stupidity. There’s no way in hell they’ll ever stop hurricane flooding. The barriers would need to be 30 ft tall, not 5. They would also need to redirect numerous rivers that outflow through the coast, and find a way to remove unfathomable amounts of flood waters coming from land. I was there for Alicia, a relatively small hurricane in the 80’s, and all of Houston was 5 ft under water, with the bayous 40ft above their channels. That water flows into the Galveston area….behind these barriers.

This is a massive boondoggle that will never be built for dozens of reasons, but will still make numerous politicians and their families disgustingly rich, and may eventually partially protect some high value real estate, but never the entire coast. That’s today’s Texas. It bears noting, Texas is nearly $50 billion in debt with a crumbling electric grid, failing water system, no social services, and likely still $10 billion away from finishing their useless failed border fence….but plan to spend at least another $10 billion of state funds on this. How, exactly?

Qatar World Cup: Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO)

spawnflagger says...

1 small point of correction - the workers are on break between 10am-3pm in the summer, which is when you see those >50C temperatures. They worked all through the night, and you can't pour concrete in the day because it's too hot and dries too quickly.
An exceptional (i.e. not the norm) construction company was one that paid it's workers what was promised, and on time. All local companies had to be 51% owned by Qataris, not sure if that changed as part of their 2018 reforms.

Judge Locks Up Parkland Shooter for Life, Throws Away Key

newtboy says...

Oh no!!!

If you haven’t noticed, I’m not Bob. I decide my positions on my own, and while I’m socially liberal, that doesn’t mean I agree with the “liberal” positions at all times. I’m not insulted at my position being called “conservative”….I’m not tribalistic that way.

EG-I’m pro gun….but very pro regulation.

I’m actually a fiscal conservative, but unlike the right I know that doesn’t really mean the government should only pay for the military and nothing more. I agree with any spending that saves billions or trillions overall, even when it means some people get a free ride.
I think police are a good idea, although I believe they need serious reforms because they have lost their mission completely.
I think public roads are a good thing, as are public water and power systems.
I think national health care is a no brainer that works well in almost every country and saves trillions per year.
I think a safety net is a good idea...give people something to lose so they don’t turn to crime because they have nothing to lose.

Edit: I’ve said most of my adult life that I would be a Republican if only they would. Today’s Con has no resemblance to the Republican party I thought I grew up with (my entire family was hard core R).
Fiscal sanity, gone. Caring about the environment, gone. Supporting facts and science, gone. Supporting small government, gone (except with lip service). Strong and enforced gun regulations to protect gun ownership rights, gone. Strict supporters of law and order, not anymore. Government out of private life, so incredibly gone. Separation of church and state, gone. Fans of democracy, gone. Honesty, not even a memory.
I’m only a “blue liberal” by default. I might be libertarian if they weren’t crazed anti government extremists and almost MAGA.
Dems are the only ones left that really believe in democratic government.

I agree that 40 years+ without parole is cruel, but certainly not unusual or excessive. I never understand why excessively long prison sentences are considered less than the death penalty…I’m claustrophobic, to me it would be 40+ years of panic. I would give myself the death penalty fairly quickly because I’m not brave enough to face that. Swallow my tongue or bite it off, either works just fine and can’t be stopped. I’m really shocked that’s not the norm, but I’ve (clearly) never had to face it.

Careful @newtboy, you're sounding a bit like a conservative on this one from the Canadian POV.

A terrorist that shot 12 people in a mosque, killing 6 was sentenced under new Conservative law that allowed sentences like murder to be applied consecutively. More details in the link below, but our liberal dominated Supreme Court ruled the 40 years without a parole chance was "cruel and unusual".

So our gov. will be giving them a chance at parole in 2039.

Everything About Irrigation Pivots (Farmers are Geniuses)

newtboy says...

I just bought the home version, one of those small (20” long) tractor sprinklers that uses the hose to guide the front wheels of the tractor.
I’m a little disappointed these full size sprinklers don’t use the water flow to drive the wheels like I always thought they did, but I’m sure that makes them much more tuneable and simple to “program”.

Try to leave Home Depot without checking out...

spawnflagger jokingly says...

Those wheel-locking carts have been used elsewhere too, but I doubt they'll have such locks on the flatbed or lumber carts. I bet you could just ask them to put a $459 toilet on a cart for you, and then ask a different person to help load it into your van/truck.
Or, if you really wanted to steal something (small), just put it in an orange 5 gallon bucket.

I'm not condoning theft. I've also wondered why it's totally OK to have bouncers at bars/clubs, but not at retailers?

You sure are. Look at the idiotic nonsense you believe.

This information is directly from the DOJ, not your bogey man THE MEDIA.

Yeah…I’ve seen Fox crying about Biden saying you’re fascists, moaning that he’s dividing us….but how quickly you forget your own slogan….”FUCK YOUR FEELINGS SNOWFLAKES!” If MAGA tears are flowing, we are on the right path. 22+ years of divisive politics from the right calling Democrats everything in the book including pedophile vampires, but calling fascism fascism is going too far. Eat a bag of baby dicks.

Those committing espionage against the United States are the real enemies of the American people, the same people who tried to overthrow the Democratic government.

Several have ended in nothing because the DOJ and AG were acting as Trump’s personal lawyers defending him from government charges instead of how it’s supposed to work where they levie the charges, these are court findings not opinion. Barr was a cover up guy, not the US AG. This is different because he no longer controls the federal prosecutors…and because of the undeniable nature of the multiple serious crimes. Just having the files is a felony he committed hundreds of times, keeping them unsafe is also a felony, lying about having them another felony…he did all 3 hundreds of times over.

Sorry, the DOJ releases are’t spin, they are facts…and facts are he illegally stole dozens/hundreds of top secret documents and kept them unsecured and lied about it repeatedly.

You’re the one squirming in a puddle, buddy.

Yeah, just wait until every scintilla of evidence has been proven in court, like you always do, right? 🤦‍♂️ remember Clinton? You couldn’t keep from pooping your diaper over her for years….over .01% the crimes already proven here…so little it wasn’t criminal, just negligent. This is criminal, intentional, intentionally hidden and lied about under penalty of perjury, and likely shared with hostile foreign powers already with potentially deadly consequences….so suddenly to your ilk national security at the highest level is partisan, only cared about by liberals and only then to hurt Marmalade Mussolini.

So far everything I’ve reported about this treason by the disgraced ex president has turned out to be correct, while every nonsense excuse you give is just that, nonsense.

Lol…EVERY election fraud scheme, and there were many, was a Republican scheme perpetrated by Republicans to get more votes for Trump. EVERY SINGLE ONE little boy. Election fraud was done by Trump and the Trumpists over and over and over and over…..voting multiple times, all Trumpists…trying to invalidate millions of valid votes, Trump… The election fraud fraud was also PURE Trump….idiot. That’s the big fraud among multiple small frauds….then the coup, Trump. Such insane delusion…only a true moron could be so gullible. YOU CANNOT POINT TO ONE ACTUAL DEMOCRATIC ELECTION FRAUD CASE only nonsense lies Fox fed you, I’ve shown you dozens of actual, prosecuted Republican frauds. (Being told by election officials you qualify to vote when you don’t, then registering to vote does not count btw)

bobknight33 said:

Media is meant to divide people, hype stories just for $. They are the real enemy of the American people.

So far every Anti Trump event has ended in a nothing burger. Should this be any different?

Beau schools on schooling: why 'FREE' scares Biff & Babs

newtboy says...

When my mother graduated summa cum laude from Rice University, it was one of the most respected universities in America and 100% free. Her degrees are anything but worthless. So much for that talking point.

In California, jr colleges are quite affordable, when I went it was under $250 a semester for 15+ units, all transferable to nearly any 4 year school. That’s a savings of about $80 k on freshman and sophomore years alone. The classes were small, the professors award winners, and they got to teach instead of trying to weed out 2/3 of the class like many 4 year colleges. Now in many cases 2 years of full class schedules are free in California at least. I don’t know why anyone would go to a 4 year college for freshman and sophomore year.

I didn’t care about a degree, so I stayed at jr college for 10 years taking whatever I wanted. More people should take advantage of them.

Why it's hard to be Republican w/a mind and heart

bobknight33 says...

Trump HAD nuclear secrets????????????
Sorry where is this information ?

Don't need to be rich to be an elitist. Its a mindset and you , my friend have the disease.

I'm rich and only a small fraction of the asshole you are.

newtboy said:

Talk about being delusional. Trump HAD nuclear secrets (and/or other national secrets of the same highest possible level secrecy classification and danger levels never to be kept or read outside secure facilities designed to safeguard such sensitive information.) and thinks it’s fine he stole them. That’s delusional.

If he still any, he should absolutely be shot for treason at first sight by any and every patriot regardless of party, right?

What can’t he hold? Anything not actually officially declassified on Jan 20, 2020.
This includes all top secrets and nuclear secrets he cannot declassify himself, and 700 pages of classified documents he did not declassify before stealing them on his way out the door. His claim “anything I took was automatically declassified” is nonsense. That’s not how declassification works at all….you know that.

Where can’t he hold it? In boxes in the hallway outside the unlocked basement in his club where foreign nationals are allowed to wander freely, where Chinese and now Russian spies are KNOWN to have penetrated carrying bags of surveillance and recording equipment, spyware ready to install, etc. Even frat boys have just wandered in off the beach to these areas. It makes Clinton’s server look like Fort Knox.

There’s no enlightening you. You prefer to live in the dark. It’s easier to make up lies and convince yourself of nonsense if you never look at reality. Any facts you dislike you simply discard, thinking your magic mantra, “fake news”, protects you from reality. Any lies you find comforting you simply believe and absolutely refuse to consider reality. It’s a serious mental issue, and if Reagan hadn’t defunded national mental health care, you would be institutionalized, but the right prefers the insane to be among us because they tend to vote Republican.

This answer has nothing to do with the Majestic Spaghetti Monster….I don’t know what you mean….

…but stupid elitists are on the right, they’re the ones who took millions in ppp loan forgiveness (often for fraudulent ppp loans for employees they didn’t have) but claim $10k to poor people trying to become educated will ruin the nation, turn us communist, bankrupt us, etc.. It’s fine if billionaires get handouts of multiple trillions, not a peep of concern then, but not those struggling with crushing debt from fake schools like Trump’s that stole their money for a completely worthless piece of paper and zero education….the same millionaires up in arms over the poor getting $10k took hundreds of thousands to millions despite making the equivalent of over $250k (and millions if they cheat, which the ALL did, insider trading is the norm from the right).

Elitist?! 😂 again, we live with 2 people on under $40k in California….near poverty level. Hard to be elitist and in poverty at the same time. Elitists are people making $250k, another million in insider trading profits, and $3 million in forgiven loans who complain poor people shouldn’t get $10k rebates, but they should get more tax breaks. That’s an elitist stupid answer, it came directly from your Republican representatives like MTG.

I’m not rich, I’m stable. We have no debts, property taxes of only $1250, and I grow over 50% of our food. We live better than most middle class, including international vacations almost yearly, 4 cars, all the top notch organic produce we can eat, a swimming pool size koi pond, Solar, an orchard, no government handouts, etc. all on poverty level income. I’ve never shirked a debt, not once. I’ve never even walked away from an obligation. If you were capable of taking in new information, you would know all that because I’ve told you repeatedly.
