Requeue Revamped (Sift Talk Post)

But see, the nice thing is that those artsy, interesting posts now have more of a chance to make it out- because they don't disappear as discards. They go into the private queue of those members that post the fascinating stuff- and are still votable- thereby giving them more of a chance to get out.

Hmm, while I like the idea that they don't disappear from view any more, it's still a case of those of us who aren't already uber-posters don't really have people coming by out profiles for a cup of tea and an Iced Vovo... So who's going to ever see our videos sitting there?

Maybe there should be a system of there always being a place on the front page where a random personal queue sift is put up... it's still not published unless it gets the votes, but it can be seen by a few more people, and perhaps bring more people to the user to see what else they may have languishing in their queue.

This front page spot could either be a case of it sits up there for a given X hours for all users, or it's just a page load by page load random sift... the 'lucky personal dip' slot?

Finally the media tells the truth - BillO a jerk and buffoon

"Fox News should be embarrassed" -- what, the last 6 million hours of broadcast slap-dickery from Fox News hasn't won them the Nobel Prize of Ass-Holery, you think some typical Irish lout behavior is suddenly going make Fox News sit up and say, "Geeze, maybe we shouldn't be such huge assholes in the future"? No. Fox News has one purpose in existing: to make the National Enquirer look respectable.

Oh Dude! I was so totally listening to this broadcast the first time it aired... I used to have wicked insomnia in high school and would sit up at night in the dark listening to Art Bell... did this help my insomnia? Probably not, but it was great fun... I miss him.

Great find punk225! Just hearing that bumper music takes me back! Thanks

yea i got the feeling that this exercise had that 'lose weight in 5 days!' kinda false advertisement promise to it lol

I'm happy with my current routines that I came up by myself, and I know my body's physical limits. So I'm in good hands. Thx for the info

Hey there, Merry Christmas and happy holidays and ho ho ho and all that. Santa's here, bringing Christmas cheer, and warning you not to do this workout. Not sure what your routine is, but if you're dilligent enough to be doing a proper weight lifting routine, you should be doing weighted exercises, like weighted sit-ups and weighted reverse sit-ups, and the like, the kind of things that will increase your functional strength. This workout is so screwed up that it will likely end up weakening your core.

I think it's a bit too intense to be a day to day workout. I'm already jogging and weightlifting as is, so I'd be modifying this a lil bit. Thx tho.

Canadian Police Taser Man To Death

Krupo says...

In this article the LIES spoken by the police are exposed: http://www.canada.com/nationalpost/news/canada/story.html?id=fd8c0fe5-d78e-4219-a0cb-cef362f6f798
My above-comment on the fact that 4 trained officers can handle a civilian without resorting to tasers are backed up by an American policing college instructor.

Or perhaps these cops WEREN'T trained?

The concerns raised: Donald Van Blaricom, former chief of the Bellevue, Wash., police, said police should have made Mr. Dziekanski sit up as soon as possible after he was Tasered to help him breathe normally.

He said Mr. Dziekanski's resistance after being handcuffed may have been due to his inability to catch his breath.

The 2005 report concluded many Taser-related deaths are likely due to the way suspects are restrained after being Tasered, rather than the Taser itself.

The report recommended that, after a Taser shock, a subject be restrained in a way that allows him to breathe easily, preferably face up.

Lyman is the instructor I cited earlier:

"I don't even think batons or Mace would have been necessary, given that there were four officers on the scene," said Mr. Lyman.

Polish government demands prosecution: http://www.cbc.ca/canada/story/2007/11/16/poland-taser.html

RCMP officers involved in the fatal Taser takedown of a Polish immigrant at Vancouver International Airport should be prosecuted for their "excessively brutal and unjustified" actions, a spokesman for the Polish Foreign Ministry said.

"No attempts were made to use other means to solve the situation, but from the very start the toughest means available to the police was used," Robert Szaniawski told the Associated Press.

Good for them.

Unlike 99% of the governments around the world, including Canada's, that just let people get SCREWED by the Man.

I'm going to go down to the Consulate to file the papers to apply for my Polish citizenship as soon as I get some time off work.

Seriously.

Great, so he builds up and has "skill" at the decks...it still sounds all the same. Just so long as there is that BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM going it's "music". I guess it's just background noise for people dancing. I mean, you wouldn't go sit in an audience and see a DJ in "concert". Besides, who knows what he's doing. Probably has a MacBook sitting up there where he hits a button and all the "music" comes streaming out...then he runs around like he's doing something. Who would know? Who could tell the difference? The end result would be the same.

Does he also do "The Chicken Dance" and "The Hokey Pokey"?

How television affects the brain

MINK says...

this is like the most interesting video i have seen on here, even though i already knew it, it's presented very well so i could send it to a friend and not sound like a "conspiracy theorist".

this video shows exactly why internet killed the video star... because on the internet you actually have to sit up and make decisions. even if those decisions are just about which godawful myspace profile to visit next, it's still decisions.

i still find it amazing that the american military developed a system to screw up TV, the american government gave everyone in the world the system, and now they're like "oh shit!!!"

...or they're like "HAAAA HA HA HA HA ALL YOUR GOOGLE SEARCH ARE BELONG TO US, FEEBLE SERFS!!!!"

Sometimes, Doc_M, controversies really only have one side to them, with the "other side" being upheld by ill-informed or even delusional people. Kinda like the Flat Earth Society.

Yes, some people really do believe that the world is flat, despite considerable evidence to the contrary.

Just because a website "promotes its own agenda" (thus discrediting it with you) does not mean the factual evidence backed up with studies, research, and experiments are suddenly null and void. Sure, if the studies were faked or no sources were cited I would be suspicious. That's not the case, though.

The most damning part of this news clip is when it points out that the EPA scientists THEMSELVES are dissenting against the EPA's ruling. It's a giant cue to even the most uninformed person to sit up and take notice that an agency's own employees are saying "whoa whoa there that ain't right." I'm no water expert, but those EPA scientists are, and would know better than me whether or not fluoride in my drinking water is good or bad.

It's sorta like the dissenting NASA engineers that were forced by ignorant upper management (unaware of the dangers of cold temperatures and O-Rings) to sign off on the Challenger space shuttle launch. And look how great that turned out.

Fluoride will Fuck you up.

23rd Century technology, care of The Fifth Element

Another sit-up-in-your-seat moment was on ST: Voyager where the Doctor replaced Neelix's stolen lung with a holographic lung ("The Phage"). I'd always seen holographics on ST as objects to interact with outside the body, but not inside it. Crazy stuff.

Thomas Barnett on the Future of War

drattus says...

In the segment nearing 19 minutes he says "force on the left, respects Posse Comitatus restrictions on the use of force inside the US. Force on the right is going to obliterate it.

These are some scary guys. What they are talking about sounds reasonable on the surface and in limited and foreign use as part of a rebuilding effort might make sense, but when they start tossing lines like that in I sit up and pay attention. The Posse Comitatus act was there for a reason.

Watch the details close, we might not like them.
