Would you happen to have a reputable link or site I could purchase from? I am quite interested.

LOL @ HCG not working. I've seen 5 people EVAPORATE on it before my eyes. Oh it works, there is zero doubt.

I think it's a highly faked item. I have seen different results from different HCG vendors in our area. It is best to research HCG "weight loss clinics" I think in your area and look for reviews. It is common to see both pill and injectable forms. I have seen both forms work astoundingly well.

I think it's more about where the language is going rather than where it is now.

So you could ask for "orange juice" or "oren tzu" from the bar tender now...but what about the bar tender who's 5 now or yet even born? It would seem to be trending that he simply has stopped giving a shit at appeasing western pronunciation or is even aware of it. It is not "English" any more, they've stopped trying to speak it, they now speak "Panglish". Maybe they stop bothering to hire foreign teachers to aid in teaching English who will make these corrections and they say, "You know, our Panglish teachers are good enough...and cheaper and we don't have to give them accommodation and...".

@artician That's quite interesting. I've known several people from singapore, malaysia, bangladesh, china, japan, vietnam, philipinnes, etc...I've never run into this phenomenon, though far be it from saying it doesn't exist. Though, so long as the standardized english language media is being broadcast, I'd be surprised if the vast majority of the people who spoke 'panglish' couldn't also understand western english.

QI - David Mitchell attempts to explain the origin of "WWI"

on a quite interesting tangent, this question reminded me of one of my favorite movie quotes. it's from Three Days of the Condor. a brief exchange between John Houseman and Cliff Robertson, who just died a few days ago btw.

[Wabash talks about his entry into the US intelligence field]
Wabash: I go even further back than that. Ten years after The Great War, as we used to call it. Before we knew enough to number them.
Higgins: You miss that kind of action, sir?
Wabash: No. I miss that kind of clarity.

Ex-Islamist explains the growth of extremism vs democracy

hpqp says...

I don't know anything about this person other than what is in the video, but your critique doesn't seem to address anything he says. Ad hominem?

Personally I find what he says about democracy being presented as only one political choice quite interesting, especially when one looks at the two-party system in the US, which is veering dangerously towards "theocracy" vs. "democracy".

edit: the language of Pakistan is Urdu, not Arabic.

spreading democracy and western culture into pakistan.
this guy runs a crappy little political organization that purports to save globalism from islamists. Why the hell would you want to save globalism?

At Khudi, we tend to prefer the latter. That’s why we organize conferences and workshops around the country, inviting people from disparate backgrounds to foster a culture of healthy discussion and debate
....
Khudi also runs an inter-university campus magazine, distributed at universities across Pakistan, providing students with a chance to air their views without fear of reprisal.

what an idiot. I read this http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/article2459969.ece
about Maajid's polarizing youth, but apparently his big solution are free magazines and communications workshops.
this is an english man mucking about at politics in pakistan.
he'd do better to spend his time to learn arabic than to convince some rich pakistanis that they should love the west

Very true, but it is quite interesting as well. Do you think if you won the lottery tomorrow and had millions of dollars you'd be content? Possibly, but likely no matter how much money you have you would strive for a goal. It may be short or long term but you would likely always find a way to challenge yourself. It's human nature, we always want something, whether it be for achievement of something we think we want or purely because we're insecure; too much is never enough.

My point is, even though it may not be something we can relate to specifically, the struggle faced by humans trying to achieve whatever goal they may have can be both entertaining and enlightening.

Papantonio: Pap Attacks Fox News Over Flat Tax Lies

GeeSussFreeK says...

>> ^EMPIRE:

no it's actually isn't.

Check out the fair tax, though. It is a version of a flat tax that is also progressive. You might like it. They have about 50 30 seconds videos on their page in a play list that answer all the spot questions that I watched the other day. Quite interesting. I am not sold yet, but I want to hear more.

Edit: If you could make 200+ billion is liabilities disappear tomorrow, would you? That is the estimated cost of federal tax compliance on the economy. Not all of it would go away, mind you, but a very large chunk of it would. The fair tax isn't a flat tax only, it has a rebate side as well, for those that reside close to the poverty line. I still have more to read about the particulars of this exact tax, but it looks good at first glance. I know here in texas, we get along without an income tax. We have a sales and property tax that we get most income from. The poor aren't any worse off there than in other sates by and large.
