This is an example of how discussion of sexuality would come up in my classroom as I imagine it. Note how I'm not trying to convince the kid I'm talking to to turn gay like it's a big game of rainbow-red-rover or something. Nevertheless, knowing the author's sexual preference in this instance informs our understanding of the piece.


My own personal theory?
The people railing against things like this are the same shitheads that can't be bothered to read ANYTHING and instead giggle and guffaw at "hurhurhurhur he hadd'a boner" where I get to live an early stage of Idocracy.

Apparently their deal with federal prosecutors to plead guilty and admit they murdered Ahmaud Arbery as a hate crime, only killing him because of his skin color is being temporarily rejected by the judge.

Somehow federal prosecutors thought it was acceptable to offer them their choice of their preferred prisons, including the most cushy “club fed” prisons, for the first 30 years of their life sentences as reverse punishment for the hate crime enhancement…lying to the judge and claiming the family agreed to this gift to the murderers. When the family found out and strongly objected, the plea deal was rejected by the judge at the last second.

WTF is this outrageousness!? A federal prosecutor offered not only no extra time, but a massive gift of unheard of preferential treatment for 30 years specifically because these racists murdered a man over his skin color….and almost got away with it even on a highly public case like this one….and the right still denies systemic racism.

I’m not hopeful for any repercussions whatsoever for the prosecutor that tried to help these racist murderers out….but there should be. WTEverlovingF?

Increasing our oil output is a goo start, but a god awful plan. It’s actually a non starter, Biden pushed oil companies to increase production for months, but they preferred high prices and high profits. Why bring a case you might lose? Because cases are supposed to be heard on their merits, not based on political affiliation you ignorant cow. The imagery makes me think of my army service, on the other side of the iron curtain, we used to have a compulsory 2 years (1 year for university graduates after school, fortunately) so all the 18 yo kids got "drafted" for two years, not to war, but you never knew...

Everyone hated to go, hated it while there, it was a total waste of time, buggery, bigotry, boredom, drink and drugs, women, etc.
Everyone counted down the time to go home day by day like in jail.
