Reports say Don Hankey said Trump and his lawyers lied to the judge about not being able to get a full bond, because a billionaire donor and the guy who put up the bond, Don Hankey himself, offered to put up the entire amount using real estate as collateral, but Trumps team hid that from the judge.

Instead they claimed it was a “practical impossibility” to get a full bond, which was a bold faced lie, and the bond was reduced by 2/3, which Hankey provided (but his bond may be deficient as a bond in New York, not meeting the minimum requirements for such a bond and not being licensed to issue bonds in the state).

Bonus - Nice…the AZ Supreme Court just re-enacted an 1864 law banning all abortion in the state and criminalizing aiding an abortion with a mandatory 2-5 year sentence. 😂 Lin Wood, Trump’s lawyer, is begging to be allowed to give up his law license before he is sanctioned by the state bar disciplinary committee that is clearly going to strip his license and likely fine him too. In his request, he indicates he still plans to file and try cases without a license by representing himself pro-se (being your own attorney) in more frivolous cases he intends to file by himself. If the disciplinary committee rules, he will certainly be labeled a vexatious litigant and be barred from filing cases himself…that’s why he’s trying this stunt.

I really would agree….but only if that goes for everyone. No need to ever do a high speed chase or felony stop if you have the license and a photo of the driver….but that’s not how they operate.

Guaranteed if that wasn’t a cop, gun would be drawn, hands would go on, cuffs would go on, and in most cases feet would go into belly too for disrespecting their authority and trying to run. In no world would they be as calm and non confrontational with the public. My point is the “good cop” gave the bad criminal cop treatment he never would give a citizen…if he did he would lose his job. It’s the preferential treatment I’m upset about. Criminal cops should be treated like the worst, most violent and vile criminal, because they are. Instead, they’re treated with kid gloves, given every benefit of a doubt and then some, and are given free vacation time on those few occasions they have anything at all happen for violating the law and the public trust. It’s an incredibly rare thing when the entire department doesn’t stand behind, and in front of shielding blatantly abusive criminal cops and attacking/harassing any accusers, which is chilling for any that might want to be “good cops”.

Why wouldn’t it be the right thing to do to let a violent aggressive and reckless speeder (in this case he was guilty of reckless evading, a felony) who is armed just scream at the cop and drive away? Because that’s shirking their duty to enforce the law. Have you ever heard of them doing any such thing (when it wasn’t one of their own)?

If those people could sign waivers refusing any medical care they don’t pre pay for, waiving any physical damages if they aren’t at fault (I shouldn’t have to pay for your preventable injuries just because we crashed) and hospitals honor those waivers…just a dot on your license that says if your wallet is empty you agree to be a live organ donor…I’d agree.
Since that’s not the case and as often as not the paying public ends up footing the bill in one way or another for the irresponsible behavior like not wearing a seat belt, mandating seat belt usage seems 100% reasonable.
