Orlando Police Believe They’re Above The Law

newtboy says...

I really would agree….but only if that goes for everyone. No need to ever do a high speed chase or felony stop if you have the license and a photo of the driver….but that’s not how they operate.

Guaranteed if that wasn’t a cop, gun would be drawn, hands would go on, cuffs would go on, and in most cases feet would go into belly too for disrespecting their authority and trying to run. In no world would they be as calm and non confrontational with the public. I got all but the foot in the belly because a cop read my license plate wrong once, couldn’t tell a “5” from an “S”, then threatened me with unspecified retaliation if I complained…he said remember he had my address now if I cause him any trouble over this.

My point is the “good cop” gave the bad criminal cop treatment he never would give a citizen…if he did he would lose his job. It’s the preferential treatment I’m upset about. Criminal cops should be treated like the worst, most violent and vile criminal, because they are. Instead, they’re treated with kid gloves, given every benefit of a doubt and then some, and are given free vacation time on those few occasions they have anything at all happen for violating the law and the public trust. It’s an incredibly rare thing when the entire department doesn’t stand behind, and in front of shielding blatantly abusive criminal cops and attacking/harassing any accusers, which is chilling for any that might want to be “good cops”.

Why wouldn’t it be the right thing to do to let a violent aggressive and reckless speeder (in this case he was guilty of reckless evading, a felony) who is armed just scream at the cop and drive away? Because that’s shirking their duty to enforce the law. Have you ever heard of them doing any such thing (when it wasn’t one of their own)?

Man Rips Up His Cash Over Seat Belt Ticket

newtboy says...

If those people could sign waivers refusing any medical care they don’t pre pay for, waiving any physical damages if they aren’t at fault (I shouldn’t have to pay for your preventable injuries just because we crashed) and hospitals honor those waivers…just a dot on your license that says if your wallet is empty you agree to be a live organ donor…I’d agree.
Since that’s not the case and as often as not the paying public ends up footing the bill in one way or another for the irresponsible behavior like not wearing a seat belt, mandating seat belt usage seems 100% reasonable.
Also, since most learning/teaching is by example, it’s near child abuse to not wear it with kids in the car. Akin to shooting drugs or playing Russian roulette in front of them….taking a deadly risk for no purpose.

visionep said:

Those alarms can be disabled. I always disable them on my cars so it doesn't annoy me when I don't want to wear my seatbelt.

Seatbelt laws are very strange to me. I think the law should only be that you can get a ticket if you don't force your children to wear a seatbelt. Forcing adults to wear them does nothing for public safety, it's a personal safety issue which shouldn't be mandated by the government.

I'm surprised the cops didn't refer the guy to mental services. This guy definitely has control issues and it would be worth it for his family to have him checked out and get help if he needed it.

YouTuber Guilty Lying About Intentional Plane Crash

newtboy says...

Deserves whatever he gets. Every penny he made off the video and appearance fees should be forfeited, and he should see prison time. So much irresponsibility here, and obstruction, destruction of evidence, etc. 20 years is really under 7 years with parol.
I sure hope his license is revoked for life too.

Best Things About Being Blind

spawnflagger says...

I think it's for when a sighted driver (family, friend, etc) drives them somewhere, they can park closer to the door. Probably they don't issue handicapped license plates to blind people, but rather just the hang-tags you put on rearview mirror.

newtboy said:

Um….can anyone explain why they issue blind people handicapped parking stickers?

CHP Officer not happy when you go 90 mph

StukaFox says...

I got pulled over by the CHP for doing 110 outside King City in California.

The cop didn't even ask how fast I was going. He just said "110" and then he said "I'm going to write you up for 80 and save your license."

"Thank you, Officer." -- and I was sincere as fuck when I said it, too.

That was the last speeding ticket I got and it was over 20 years ago. Luckily, there was no cop around when I hit 140 on highway 237 outside Mountain View a week later. I miss the hell out of my Z-28!

why are these newer LWT videos always unavailable in Canada? does YouTube have a license to "broadcast" HBO episodes in the US only? seems ridiculous.

Girl Demands To Be Arrested When Her Best Friend Gets an OWI

newtboy says...

While I agree about not trusting police, I posted many of those videos btw, she wasn’t concerned that something untoward would happen to her friend that she was somehow going to prevent, imo. Those police were being quite professional. She wasn’t going to even see her after their arrest, so they said.
She was drunk and got a crazy idea she wouldn’t let go of is what I saw. She’s definitely not used to hearing “no”.

My argument is people should get the same response male or female, black, white, or green, and that any non white female acting like she was wouldn’t be likely to get off so easily and near consequence free.
Do I think she needed prison for this behavior, no, but do I think she needs 20 hours of community service or probation instead of a small fine daddy will pay, yes. I knew kids that got much much worse than that for just simple alcohol possession/drunkenness as a minor. In Cali when I was a teen they took your license until you were at least 21 for any underage drinking, even if you weren’t driving.
I think in a fair world she would be made to understand she has to live by the same laws we all do by having some consequence, not to expect to get special treatment because she’s (apparently) rich, white, and cute….but I understand that’s unrealistic to expect.

The driver needs some jail time if I understand correctly and she was driving recklessly at what ended up being a .20% bac. That’s sloshed.

Um... what!?
Best I can tell, this young person was just concerned for the wellbeing of her friend, and given the number of videos that we see on the Sift of cops showing that they absolutely cannot be trusted, I think that's fair enough.

If your argument is that it's wrong that her boyfriend would probably get much worse treatment for the same behaviour, then you've phrased it really strangely, but I agree; we need fewer people caught up in the justice system for minor stuff, not more, regardless of gender or race.

Good on the cops in this case for getting the balance right and only charging the idiot who got drunk and endangered others by getting behind the wheel.

Wow.
You really need to go back to school and learn how to read, or you need to get to the institution because the dementia is full blown. You really are a silly little boy, aren’t you? You thought this proof of your prepubescence and illiteracy was worth posting. Honestly, if your account wasn’t 13 years old I would be sure you were only 12.

What I said is the sham investigations BY republicans are only finding Republicans who violated oaths of office, ethics rules, and who hired “whistleblowers” that are revealed to be disgraced agents that sided with criminals and who are now paid political actors, and are in fact disproving the “crimes” they are meant to “investigate”, and proving time and time again that Republicans are actually guilty of what they accused Democrats of doing.

Every accusation is an admission, and Republicans have 3 “investigations” looking into their accusations/admissions and finding Republican crimes.

Benghazi all over again. The Big Lie all over again. Republicans are so incredibly stupid they never learn from their mistakes and just keep trying the same failed tactic of making up a ridiculous charge against a political enemy then spending hundreds of millions of tax payer dollars disproving it. Already done with the Twitter investigation, now with the weaponization investigation, what’s next? Laptop investigations? Trump doesn’t want that….his has top secret classified information copied into it with a digital record of which countries he’s sent it to, and the child porn.

I’m truly sad for you that your dementia has gone full blown. It’s been a time talking with you. Best wishes for your family.

PS- looks like you might lose FOX soon. Handing confidential campaign information from Biden’s advertising contracts to Jared is both an FCC and FEC violation big enough to repeal their license, and the suits have already started over that. After the $4.3 billion they’ll lose for lying about Dominion and Smartmatic, and the admission under oath by every talking head at Fox and Murdoch that they knew the big lie was a lie all along but spreading the lie got them more money from you suckers, going off the air completely is going to hurt. Good job, crazy lying far right media, you’ve managed to lie yourself into the poor house and soon off the air.

So finally you starting to admit that the Jan 6 "insurrection" is a sham by the Democrats.

they have been approved to make and sell cocaine *to other appropriately licensed entities, NOT individuals or the public. this is basically a fuck up by adastra and click bait news story.

but decriminalization is such a huge step forward on multiple fronts. cocaine (and all the other "scary" drugs) should be manufactured and sold. makes everyone significantly safer.

Ruh-roe! Seems Jack Smith filed a motion to dissolve attorney client privilege for Trump’s lawyers based on the crime/fraud exception.
Since his lawyers swore under oath there were no more classified documents in Trump’s possession before literally thousands of classified documents were found being hidden in multiple places with multiple warrants, swore a thorough search had been done when they knew it had not, they ARE all complicit in the crimes, so no privilege exists. They will be forced to testify and will lose their law licenses and may still see prison.
D’oh!

Also, Trump’s incompetent fraud architect of the capitol, who is not an architect and has zero experience in conserving historic buildings or restoration, was finally fired for massive abuse of power, extreme incompetence, ethics violations, and extreme misconduct including but not limited to his office leasing 3 luxury cars for his family and repeatedly impersonating a Capitol police officer. Every Trump appointee is a criminal fraud with no experience in the job they were installed in. The shallow state.

As a side note, DeSantis was caught hiding his order to ban firearms from his own events and insisting the venues ban firearms without his public involvement or statements so he could pretend it wasn’t on his order and not under his control, but it was. Another case of “do as I say, not as I do” from righties.

Bonus- The Trump Building is about to go into default, Trump’s biggest asset, and is severely underwater and losing more tenants while expenses rise. He can’t get ANY new loans because he’s cash poor and is about to lose $250 million in just one of many court cases, and is about to lose this one time $400 million building.

Second bonus- the Smartmatic 2.7 billion lawsuit against Fox progressed again, with the judge ruling Fox did slander/libel Smartmatic with malice, having knowledge that what they reported was false.

EMTs charged with murder

robdot says...

An emt ,and a paramedic ,are 2 totally different things. The headline says emt. But the newscaster says paramedic. There is a significant license and education level between those 2.

I don’t believe these 2 are paramedics. Often an ambulance would have one medic and one emt. Who really just drives the medic around and hands him stuff.

Neither of these 2 look like medics to me. So,there is a question as to why this squad has no medic on board.

Voltes V: Legacy: The world is under attack | MEGA TRAILER

cloudballoon says...

FYI: The "5 vehicles combine into a giant robot" concept was a very popular cartoon concept in Japanese animes WELL BEFORE Voltron. The later ones got even more than 5 members, went up to 15 and was the most outrageous of the concept (adapted into the latter Vechicle Team Voltron in Western media) iirc .

Voltes V was first aired in '77. While the original Lions Voltron came out years LATER in the mid-'80s. So can't claim plagiarism.

This is properly licensed (by TOEI Japan) trailer made by a Philippines studio, so it's legitimate and not fan-made.

"Voltes V" ws the immediate followup of "Combattler V"

I grew up with these cartoons in their original Japanese version but dubbed into Cantonese while I was in Hong Kong.

Arizona Republicans Attacking People Trying To Vote

newtboy says...

If it’s so above board, really not simply illegal voter intimidation by heavily armed thugs in full combat armor…why are they hiding their identities?
If this was truly an act of civic patriotism, they would be proud to be seen doing it, not ashamed and afraid, hiding behind masks and hiding their licenses.

Arizona Republicans Attacking People Trying To Vote

newtboy says...

Not from afar, not quietly, not peacefully, not just watching….recording voters, recording licenses, IDing voters, and angrily approaching them while vitriolicly accusing them of being mules ripe for doxing and violent MAGA terrorist attacks at home and against their families, all from masked heavily armed thugs hiding their own licenses and IDs, that are WAY closer to the drop boxes than the law allows, especially when they chase the voters away from the boxes… armed.

No, you fucking moron, it’s a terrorist thing. It’s an anti democracy thing. It’s an intimidation thing. I hope it happens to you.

Tell me you would be fine with 15 well armed black thugs in masks and body armor 50 ft from the box aggressively approaching any white voters and calling them MAGA fraudulent voters, recording your face and license, threatening you and your family, and saying “we got you now” “see you soon at home, fraud” as they chase you off with guns drawn. You wouldn’t, but since it’s white MAGA terrorists, you see nothing.

Fucking moronic anti American terrorist. Eat a bag of baby dicks and choke. Better yet, go peacefully protest like Ashley Babbitt and get the same result.

There’s no way in hell they know if a person is dropping off multiple votes for family members, as allowed by law. At the legally required distance from the box, they couldn’t see what’s put in anyway, so your claim they’re just securing it is a bold lie. Even if they could see, what could they DO? Nothing, by the time they saw something put in the box it’s too late, votes are in the box mixed with all the others. The only way they could be doing anything but pure intimidation is if they physically stopped each person and checked their ID against the vote envelope, which would be SO much worse.

They’re grasping at a debunked conspiracy theory about drop box mules, another made up MAGA boogie man with absolutely zero evidence, just nutjobs delusions and baseless accusations from idiotic assholes and treasonous traitors to the USA, like yourself, and intentionally intimidating thousands of lawful voters out of voting at all…because the right knows it cannot win fair or free elections.

This anti democracy terrorism has exploded in the last days, with dozens of heavily armed masked thugs with their license plates covered or removed recording threatening harassing and even attacking and chasing any voters using drop boxes to vote, so much that numerous police forces have been forced to assign officers to drop boxes to secure them from the anti American democracy hating maggots.

It won’t stand in my state where election security is important. They would be shot night one, and that would be a non story. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
